Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

DESCRIPTION

Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Salesforce Developer, where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions that support critical business processes.

This is a hands-on development role for someone who can work independently, understand business requirements, translate them into effective technical solutions, and take ownership of delivery from design through implementation and production support.

The successful candidate will also be expected to provide technical guidance to other developers, contribute to solution design discussions, review technical implementations, and help drive development best practices across the team.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, Salesforce administrators, architects, integration teams, QA, and other cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions across the Salesforce platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and other platform capabilities.

  • Work independently on complex enhancements and development requirements with minimal supervision.

  • Translate functional and business requirements into well-designed technical solutions.

  • Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to junior and mid-level developers.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to Salesforce development standards and best practices.

  • Design and implement integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and other integration patterns.

  • Support data migration, data quality, and large data volume activities where required.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, integration failures, and complex Salesforce platform problems.

  • Participate in solution design, impact analysis, estimation, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure proper unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing coverage.

  • Contribute to release management and CI/CD processes across Salesforce environments.

  • Maintain clear technical documentation for developed solutions, integrations, and configurations.

  • Identify opportunities for platform optimization, automation, and technical improvement.

  • Support team members with technical problem-solving and knowledge sharing.

  • Participate in production support and critical issue resolution when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of professional Salesforce development experience.

  • Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience with Apex, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Salesforce Flows.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration, including Profiles, Permission Sets, Roles, Sharing Rules, Record Types, Validation Rules, and Security Model.

  • Experience with Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, governor limits, bulkification, asynchronous processing, and platform best practices.

  • Experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs and working with enterprise integrations.

  • Experience with data migration, Data Loader, or other Salesforce data management tools.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across Salesforce configurations, custom code, integrations, and data.

  • Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Gearset, Copado, or similar tools.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce deployment and release management practices.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while taking end-to-end ownership of assigned deliverables.

  • Experience mentoring developers, reviewing code, and providing technical guidance to the team.

  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.

  • Ability to support production issues and participate in critical incident resolution when required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required/preferred.

  • Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or other advanced Salesforce certifications are a plus.

  • Experience with Oracle CPQ is an advantage.

  • Experience with enterprise integrations and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft is a plus.

  • Experience with large-scale Salesforce implementations and complex multi-system environments is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce security, authentication, SSO, OAuth, and integration security concepts is desirable.

  • Experience working with geographically distributed global teams is an advantage.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Senior Salesforce Developer who can independently drive technical delivery while also supporting and guiding the broader development team.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable taking ownership of complex requirements, asking the right technical and business questions, proposing practical solutions, and delivering high-quality implementations with minimal supervision.

This role is best suited for someone who continues to be actively involved in Salesforce development while also demonstrating the maturity and experience required to lead technical discussions and mentor other team members.
