About The Role 

Reporting to the aT1D KAM Lead, you will be part of our Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes (aT1D) Franchise team, with accountability for your designated region. 

As a Regional aT1D Key Account Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive commercial performance and product adoption across your regional portfolio. In support of this objective, you will advance local early detection initiatives and coordinate cross-functional account engagement to optimise the patient pathway and improve access to treatment. 

Working closely with NHS Engagement Managers (NEMs), Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), you will develop and execute integrated account plans that address customer needs, improve patient outcomes, and deliver business objectives. 

This role provides the opportunity to develop deep expertise in the aT1D landscape, identifying opportunities to enhance patient identification, optimise pathway implementation, and accelerate access to innovative treatment solutions.

Main Responsibilities 

Commercial & Sales excellence 

  • Deliver sales targets and KPI’s for promoted brands: develop and deliver local strategic business plan in conjunction with appropriate internal stakeholders 

  • Develop brand and customer advocacy and influence across key accounts (at local and national level; mobilise advocates as required by the aT1D Franchise Team 

  • Understand & optimise an omnichannel strategy as part of the customer journey (CJ) to support customer objectives, proactively design, develop, deliver & measure short/medium and long term omnichannel strategies to ensure ‘Best in Class’ customer experience and engagement (Customer First Mindset) 

  • Apply high-level selling skills to achieve commercial success with prescribers and key decision makers in the NHS 

  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to optimise the development and delivery of business plans (lead self and others as a customer journey orchestrator) 

  • Develop and maintain product, therapeutic and local healthcare economy knowledge 

  • Maintain up-to-date customer/disease area/service knowledge to maintain competitive advantage

Early Detection & Pathway  

  • Advance the identification of opportunities to improve early identification of individuals at risk of T1D within priority accounts, incl. increasing awareness of screening and monitoring pathways, identifying barriers and opportunities; and contributing to account-specific early detection plans aligned to local healthcare priorities and customer needs. 

  • Engage relevant clinical and infusion center leads stakeholders to support the identification, referral and treatment of eligible Stage 2 T1D patients 

Account Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration  
Note: this is a coordination responsibility, not functional ownership of NEM/NSL activities 

  • Orchestrate the cross-functional development and coordination of integrated account plans across the end-to-end patient pathway from early detection through treatment, working with NEM and MSLs accountable for respective expertise 

  • Work collaboratively with /relevant internal stakeholders, including NEMs and MSLs, to deliver a coordinated customer experience and deliver against account priorities. 

  • Maintain awareness of pathway opportunities, barriers and priorities - coordinating appropriate support from / escalation to NEM and MSLs when required 

  • Capture pathway insights, customer needs and system barriers and share these within account planning and cross-functional engagement. 

Ethical Leadership 

  • Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training/tools provided by Sanofi to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the industry code of practice, Sanofi policies and procedures and any relevant legal requirements) 

  • Demonstrate personal leadership of applying these to all work undertaken. 

  • Ensure full compliance with ABPI code of practice across all pathway development and embedding activities

About You

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a science background. 

  • ABPI qualified, and detailed understanding of its practical application in a business environment. 

  • Experience of working collaboratively with medical and NHS engagement colleagues (MSLs/NEMs or equivalent) to deliver integrated account plans 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS relating to aT1D including the local decisions, impact on Sanofi and changes that affect their customers. 

  • Experience of successfully working with prescribers and key decision makers in the NHS 

  • Understanding of infusion centre operations and NHS treatment pathways for specialist medicines 

  • Ability to achieve sales success by applying high level selling skills. 

  • Ability to analyse complex internal and external data. 

  • Ability to share knowledge internally across account team structures and cross-functionally to maximise effectiveness 

  • Ability to contribute to the development and execution of shared business plans. 

  • Ability to achieve success within a changing environment (comfortable with ambiguity) 

  • A self-starter with drive and curiosity to truly make a difference
