Job Description

Team Summary:

The AP Digital Sales team is responsible for driving Visa's growth across digital-native clients, fintechs, issuers, payment platforms, and emerging payment ecosystems. The team partners with clients throughout their growth journey, helping them launch, scale, and optimize payment solutions using Visa's portfolio of products and services. The role works closely with Product, Client Services, Risk, Legal, Finance, and regional stakeholders to bring innovative payment solutions to market. 

What a Director, Business Planning & Operations, Digital Sales, AP does at Visa: 

The Director, Business Planning & Operations, Asia Pacific Digital Sales serves as the strategic operating partner for AP Digital Sales. The role turns regional growth priorities into one practical operating plan, with clear decisions, strong performance management and consistent execution across markets.   

 

The Director connects strategy, territory and portfolio choices, capacity, performance, governance and transformation. The role owns how the business plans and operates, while specialist teams retain responsibility for their functional decisions and delivery.   

Strategic Planning & Resource Optimization:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Head of AP Digital Sales. 
  • Translate emerging and unpredicted business issues into clear executive recommendations and action plans. 
  • Lead annual and multi-year business planning for AP Digital Sales, translating regional and global priorities into actionable growth plans. 
  • Drive territory design, account segmentation, coverage models, and resource allocation to maximize sales productivity and business impact. 
  • Partner with Finance, Sales Excellence, market BPO teams, and Digital Sales leadership team to align business priorities, investment decisions, and workforce planning. 

Business Performance Management & Executive Reporting:

  • Own the operating cadence for AP Digital Sales, including business reviews, QBRs, planning cycles, and leadership updates. 
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics including revenue, pipeline, conversion, renewals, productivity, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Deliver executive-level insights, identifying performance gaps, business risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. 
  • Track critical initiatives and ensure execution through effective governance, accountability, and escalation management. 

 

Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Partner across Sales, Demand Generation, Marketing, Market Development, Product, Client Success, Finance, Risk, and other stakeholders to drive and monitor Digital Sales growth initiatives. 
  • Coordinate scalable sales programs, portfolio expansion strategies, renewal campaigns, and product adoption initiatives. 
  • Establish clear operating processes and handoffs across the customer lifecycle, from lead generation through implementation and revenue realization. 
  • Identify best practices and scale successful approaches across markets and business units. 

Operating Model, Transformation & AI Enablement:

  • Lead process improvement and operating model transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and execution consistency. 
  • Define business requirements for reporting, CRM workflows, automation, planning tools, and AI-driven solutions. 
  • Drive data governance, reporting standards, and adoption of tools that support data-driven decision making. 
  • Champion practical AI and automation opportunities to enhance planning, reporting, sales productivity, and operational effectiveness.

  • Establishes a unified planning and operating framework across AP Digital Sales, with clear priorities, governance, accountability, and performance measures. 
  • Ensures territory, portfolio, capacity, and investment decisions are data-driven and aligned across Digital Sales, Regional BPO, Finance, and market stakeholders. 
  • Provides leadership with timely, actionable insights into business performance, pipeline health, execution risks, and growth opportunities to support informed decision-making. 
  • Drives greater efficiency and scalability across sales motions through standardized processes, improved handoffs, and reduced operational friction. 
  • Accelerates execution of strategic initiatives through strong governance, stakeholder alignment, clear ownership, and measurable business outcomes. 
  • Enables Digital Sales teams to operate more effectively by leveraging data, technology, automation, and AI to improve planning, productivity, and business performance.

Qualifications

 What you will need:  

  • Min 12+ years of experience in business planning & operations, strategy, sales/revenue operations, management consulting, or related fields.  
  • Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders to translate strategy into operating plans and measurable business outcomes. 
  •  Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in performance management, forecasting, pipeline/portfolio analysis, and resource planning.  
  • Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, executive communication, and presentation skills.  
  • Experience using CRM, business intelligence, planning, and reporting tools.  
  • Experience operating within a complex, matrixed, multi-market organization.  
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 

 

What will also help: 

  • Experience in payments, financial services, fintech, SaaS, or B2B technology industries. 
  • Experience in rolling out new functions or divisions in 0>1 environments 
  • The ability to create new structures and operating models that work in volume and large territories as a complementing motion to the well established Visa enterprise model.
  • Experience in operating model design, process transformation, and organizational effectiveness.  
  • Practical understanding of AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making.  
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex business challenges, challenge constructively, and drive alignment across senior stakeholders.  
  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of delivering measurable business impact.  
  • Experience balancing regional strategy with local market needs in a global organization. 

 

This role calls for a strategic operator with an ownership mindset, sound commercial judgment and analytical rigor. You should be able to simplify complex issues, influence without authority, constructively challenge decisions and communicate a clear executive story. Strong operating-model design, process improvement and data and AI fluency are important, along with a consistent focus on accountability, measurable results and the right balance between regional consistency and market relevance. 

 

Projects you will be a part of: 

  • Territory & Portfolio Strategy at a BU and Cluster level in partnership with regional BPO in designing how Tier 3 clients are segmented, prioritized, assigned and managed across AP. 
  • Growth & Performance Management, building an integrated view of revenue, pipeline, renewals, portfolio penetration and productivity to drive action. 
  • Capacity & Productivity Planning, shaping role-based coverage, capacity models and resource allocation based on market potential and growth opportunities. 
  • Pipeline & Demand Acceleration: improving how Marketing, BDRs, Sales, Product and Client Success jointly create, progress and convert opportunities. 
  • Scalable Cluster & Business Unit Engagements and Digital Maturity Adoption frameworks: helping clusters and business units adopt repeatable engagement models that combine Digital Sales scale with local market expertise. 
  • Cross-Functional Change Management: Drive adoption of new operating models, processes and ways of working across the extended BPO community and leadership organization.
