We're rebuilding the AWS product catalog for an AI-native world, and this role owns both how it's defined and how it grows. You'll set the standards every AWS product follows and define the new features, packages, and add-ons that service teams bring to customers, building the machine-readable foundation that billing, cost management, and AI agents all depend on. The AWS Billing organization serves over 200 AWS services across 30+ regions, and every one needs a product definition that is structurally correct, consistently described, and rich enough for both humans and AI to reason about. This is the foundation for commercial decisions made by external customers and internal teams.

As Senior Product Manager - Technical External Services, you'll own the AWS product model end to end: the schema, governance rules, and quality standards every product conforms to, and the new product structures service teams build on top of them. You'll define what attributes a product carries from creation, how to create standard models for different types of services (from compute and storage to AI inference and developer tools), how products relate to and compose with one another in packages and shared commercial experiences, and how the catalog enables AI agents to discover, compare, and act on products programmatically. You'll also extend the catalog with new product features, packages, and add-ons that service teams can adopt through configuration rather than custom engineering. Your work directly determines how AWS services launch and grow their products.

In this role, you'll architect the data model that underlies AWS commerce, define the governance framework that enforces it across hundreds of service teams, and establish the lifecycle and relationship standards that let products evolve and work consistently across commercial channels. You'll conduct direct research with service teams and internal consumers of product data to understand where definitions break down, translating those insights into schema improvements and governance rules. You'll work at the intersection of data architecture, billing infrastructure, and AI-native product design, defining how AWS products present themselves to the next generation of consumers.

You'll collaborate with engineering teams across AWS's billing, metering, and cost management organizations. This role requires deep technical fluency in data modeling, schema design, and systems thinking, combined with the product instinct to know which standards matter and which create bureaucracy.

If you're excited about defining the foundational data layer that makes AWS's commerce systems work this role offers the chance to shape how every AWS product is defined, described, and used across AWS commerce.

- Architect agent-readable product metadata standards for AI consumption across internal and external experiences
- Drive adoption of product standards across new offerings and established catalog systems
- Conduct direct research with service teams and product data consumers to identify where definitions break down and drive improvements
- Partner with engineering teams across AWS's billing, metering, and cost management organizations
