Job Description

Role Summary

Lead product strategy and execution across the full acquiring lifecycle within Visa Acceptance, with accountability for financial processing accuracy, platform scalability, lifecycle completeness, and cross-functional alignment.

Job Description

This Director-level role is responsible for setting product direction and driving delivery of backend platform capabilities across the full acquiring lifecycle. The role owns the product strategy for the system of record supporting clearing, settlement, funding, pricing, disputes, and risk integration, ensuring financial correctness, operational integrity, and scalable global adoption across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Set product direction for the end-to-end acquiring lifecycle: boarding → capture → clearing → settlement → funding → reporting
  • Lead prioritization and execution of product requirements, APIs, and data models for transaction lifecycle and financial processing
  • Own settlement and funding capabilities including interchange, fee calculation, net/gross settlement, adjustments, and exception handling
  • Drive reconciliation and financial control workflows to ensure consistency between transaction processing, settlement outputs, and reporting
  • Define product strategy for interchange qualification, pricing constructs, and funding behaviors across the lifecycle
  • Partner with senior engineering, architecture, operations, finance, risk, and regional teams to deliver scalable platform services
  • Identify lifecycle gaps, financial discrepancies, and data inconsistencies, and drive resolution through product, technology, and operational improvements
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive partners to align roadmap priorities, delivery tradeoffs, and platform adoption decisions
  • Enable standardized capabilities that support multi-acquirer, multi-region, and partner-integrated deployment models
  • Use AI/ML, copilots, and agentic tools to accelerate discovery, synthesize requirements, inspect data patterns, summarize operational issues, draft product artifacts, and improve day-to-day execution while maintaining human review and governance.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage executive, technical, and non-technical global audiences
  • Metrics & Impact Driven: Ability to translate customer needs, platform priorities, and operational risks into measurable business outcomes
  • Leadership: Highly accountable, autonomous, and effective at driving clarity, prioritization, and execution in ambiguous environments
  • Technical Depth: Strong systems thinking with ability to engage deeply on APIs, data, SQL, architecture, and platform design with senior engineering leaders
  • Collaboration: Strong cross-functional leadership with a passion for building trusted partnerships, developing talent, and sharing knowledge across teams
  • Experience with settlement engines, ledger/accounting systems, financial platforms, or systems of record supporting regulated financial operation
  • Experience working with global card schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard)
  • Experience in multi-region acquiring platforms or partner-integrated environments
  • Experience leading product managers or cross-functional delivery teams across multiple technology workstreams
  • 12+ years of experience in payments, financial technology, or platform product roles, including experience leading complex product initiatives
  • Deep expertise in acquiring, clearing & settlement, funding, reconciliation, and financial platform operations
  • Proven ability to define product strategy for interchange qualification, merchant pricing hierarchies, settlement funding methods, and lifecycle financial controls
  • Strong experience leading requirements, APIs, financial data models, and transaction lifecycle workflows in partnership with senior technology teams
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and drive roadmap decisions in ambiguous environments.


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $173,100 to $307,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
