About the Team
At DoorDash, we're redefining the future of on-demand delivery. At the center of this is our marketplace, connecting 30+ million customers on DoorDash with their favorite restaurants and brands! The Marketplace team focuses on growing our consumer business, including DashPass, our global subscription program. Our vision is to create the world’s leading membership program in local commerce, delivering unprecedented value and a world class experience to members.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Manager, DashPass Strategy & Operations to build and own the merchant co-funding strategy behind DashPass. DashPass benefits are what make membership the most valuable proposition in local commerce — this role is about making them sustainable and scalable by unlocking merchant investment in them.
You'll sit at the intersection of our consumer subscription business and our merchant and monetization teams. You'll define what merchants get from DashPass, quantify it credibly, and turn that into co-funded offers that scale across the full spectrum of merchant cohorts — from our largest Enterprise brands down to hundreds of thousands of SMBs, each with fundamentally different economics, decision-making, and tooling needs. You'll also be the voice ensuring the benefits we put in front of members are evaluated on merchant outcomes, not just consumer ones. Success in this role depends on building conviction with data and driving outcomes across product, engineering, data science, marketing, finance, and commercial teams without direct authority.
- Own the DashPass co-funding strategy end to end — define which benefits merchants should fund, at what level, and why; build the business case that makes it compelling for merchants and accretive for DashPass
- Build and defend the merchant value proposition for DashPass — quantify incremental volume, new customer acquisition, and order frequency attributable to DashPass, and turn that into a repeatable, credible pitch our commercial teams can carry
- Influence the promotions and monetization product roadmap — represent DashPass co-funding requirements for offer types, targeting, eligibility, and measurement, and bring a stack-ranked, evidence-backed set of asks
- Be the DashPass DRI in merchant commercial conversations — size the impact of DashPass components in long-term agreements and partnerships, set the guardrails, and protect long-term member and merchant economics
- Hold the member benefit roadmap accountable to merchant outcomes — establish the framework, metrics, and review cadence that ensure new benefits drive positive results for merchants alongside members, and bring a defensible point of view when the two are in tension
- Model complex tradeoffs and bring a strong POV to senior leadership — frame ambiguous, cross-functional decisions with data and carry them to executives
- Experiment and scale — turn strategy into operational experiments with measurable outcomes, then build the processes and tools to scale what works
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own. Be the DRI for how DoorDash funds the most valuable membership program in local commerce, with end-to-end ownership of a strategy that’s still being written
- Build. Create the merchant value proposition for DashPass from first principles — the analysis, the narrative, and the offerings our commercial teams take to market
- Drive “visible from space” impact. Unlocking merchant funding at scale creates a new, durable source of investment in member benefits — materially changing the economics of DashPass and the business
- Model. Frame ambiguous, cross-functional tradeoffs with data and carry a strong, defensible point of view to senior leadership
- Shape. Influence the promotions and monetization product roadmap by translating merchant and member needs into clear, prioritized requirements
- Influence. Drive alignment and outcomes across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Finance, and our commercial teams without direct authority
- Experiment. Transform strategy into operational experiments that create measurable, actionable outcomes — then scale what works
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 8+ years of experience in strategy & operations, commercial strategy, management consulting, investment banking, business development, product operations, or a closely related field, with a track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes problems end-to-end
- You’ve built the business case for a two-sided value exchange — where a decision has to work for two different sets of stakeholders with competing economics — and can hold a credible point of view on both sides
- You’re comfortable in or adjacent to commercial conversations (MSAs, up-front agreements, pricing, partnerships) and can hold your ground against counterparts with competing incentives
- You have strong quantitative and structured problem-solving skills, can self-serve data (intermediate+ SQL/Excel), and can defend your conclusions to skeptical executives
- You have a bias to action. You move quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment. No job is beneath you and you lead from the front
- You possess a “breakthrough walls” mentality. You are constantly pushing the envelope of what is possible and can figure out a way to make almost anything happen
- You have clarity of thought — you can articulate a clear vision to cross-functional partners and are unafraid of ambiguity
- You communicate complex ideas clearly across technical, commercial, and executive audiences
- Subscription, marketplace, advertising, retail-media, or merchant/SMB experience is preferred
- A bachelor’s degree
