Capital One’s Retail Design team is looking for a creative interior architectural designer to lead design management of various types of special design projects and initiatives to support Capital’s One’s Cafe and branch portfolio.
Capital One is designing the next generation of financial spaces for our customers. Our Cafes are geared toward creating spaces for our customers to experience the brand in a low pressure environment, while providing support to our customers when they need us most, with a focus on hospitality and retail presence. In this exciting role you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver results that will have a direct impact on Capital One’s physical presence in the retail marketplace.
This role is responsible for facilitating many strategic and operational specific projects that support Capital One’s mission and capital plans. In this role you’ll be responsible for driving special projects, including initiatives that support new build cafes, cafe and branch renovations, ATM initiatives and concepting new standard elements. Ideal candidates have strong interior architectural design and creative problem solving skills, alongside outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with multiple stakeholders involved. You’ll work on large-scale complex, cross-departmental projects that have a direct impact on the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and delivering special projects inclusive of new build cafe, renovations, ATMs and other strategic initiatives to elevate Capital One’s existing and growing physical footprint.
Plan, design, manage and execute project plans and drawings both in-house and in collaboration with external partners to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
Concept and deliver exterior and interior design by using sketches, 3D visualization and presentations skills to align with leadership and provide guidance to supporting architects.
Development of design standard tools and elements that can be scalable across new build and renovation projects.
Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed; manage complex up and downstream project impacts.
Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation
Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
Ideally, you have:

Solid experience selecting and coordinating finishes, furniture, millwork, fabrics, signage, and lighting, working with product representatives and dealers.

Proficiency in construction drawings and documentation

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Project Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
