The Associate Director, R&D Portfolio Analysis position within the R&D Finance organization is responsible for governance support, study costing, forecasting, actuals reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will be an influential and collaborative finance professional who effectively interacts and influences global program teams and operations teams to understand the development plans, key study drivers, and operational execution so that cost estimates and study accounting is properly reported. Key responsibilities of this role include support for monthly/quarterly close activities, P&L and balance sheet analyses, providing key metrics supporting study valuations, governance process as well as achieving financial goals for R&D.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide Program Support, Governance Support and Budget / Projection Activities
Manage selected asset programs (early or in-line).
Support budget and projection preparation, including wind-down accounting for terminated programs.
Lead forecasting updates in Anaplan within overall TA scope of programs.
Maintain necessary reports in support of forecast activities and actuals review.
Perform analysis of changes in assumptions to understand and articulate variance drivers.
Provide finance estimates to support governance interactions.
Maintain an open line of communication with Development Team Leads, R&D Finance Leadership and various other stakeholders.
Drive planning of meetings and review with stakeholders and finance team (Hyderabad Hub) so that deliverables are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met.
Month-End, Quarter-End Close, Variance Analyses and Reporting
Analyze and identify root causes for significant variances.
Ensure quarterly finance reviews with study teams include robust dialogue and open and transparent communication so study performance is accurately reflected in financials.
Ensure the overall financial controls are designed and operating effectively including quarterly enrollment confirmation process for patient-based data and work performed evaluation for CRO-run studies within the scope of programs.
Collaborate effectively and efficiently to optimize spend on programs in the wind-down state to ensure financial and operational objectives are met (simplified work performed accounting).
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education of a B.S./B.A. is required, M.S./M.B.A. preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years of finance experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting.
Ability to prepare and defend financial analyses to support decision making, investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues.
Ability to present complex financial data in a clear, understandable, and visually compelling manner.
Ability to maintain accurate financial records, applying accounting principles, standards, and regulations to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of financial reporting.
Active engagement with business partners, leveraging each other’s strengths/expertise, developing strategic initiatives and fostering open dialogue to navigate complex challenges and opportunities.

Compensation Overview:
The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.
Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.
Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs.
