Typical Accountabilities
- Plan and lead ongoing engagement with business teams within assigned area to elicit, assess, and define business IT/ product requirements and areas of improvement.
- Analyze and provide significant support in the creation of mid-term (12-18 month) strategy for the IT business partnering/ product area and deliver to plan.
- Facilitate fulfillment of IT solution/ product requirements for assigned business areas/ teams, including new demands and escalations for operational requests.
- Develop business cases and proposals for products, programs, and projects based on departmental roadmaps.
- Lead analysis and assessment of solution/ product proposals and articulation of supporting reasoning. i.e. assessing business readiness, maximizing value vs. spend.
- Guide and oversee requirements management plans including identification of functional and technical requirements, translation of requirements into design specifications (e.g., functional design, user interface, business process, product road map), approvals, and scope impacts.
- Lead activities related to educating business teams on IT strategy, services, and capabilities.
- Implement IT change and communication management plans across assigned departments.
As a people manager:
- Lead and oversee current and future planning and allocation of staff, resources, and budgets in line with IT business partnering area objectives.
- Facilitate communication and cascade of functional/ departmental goals, lead annual goal setting and review for team members; conduct frequent coaching and mentoring conversations with individual team members to guide their skills development.
- Conduct/ support performance measurement and associated metrics for delivery or targets.
- Oversee/ support ongoing recruitment for team positions; drive continuous training and development of staff; support a positive motivating work environment and a culture that influences and enables performance, agility, and a mindset of improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study; Certification in business analysis practice, preferred; Experience applying business analysis tools/ techniques/ concepts (e.g., requirements management, user-centred design, business process/ product design) to design and deliver business change; Experience working with business stakeholders to identify and address process/ product requirements and IT needs; Experience leading discussions, identifying and documenting business IT problem statements, business process/ product design, and report requirements; Experience working with 3rd party suppliers/ vendors and supplier solutions/ products; Experience leading directly or indirectly delivery by team in a comparable regulated environment; Experience planning and managing resources and budgets for own area; Experience in line management, technical support, and project management particularly for people managers.
