We are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and resilient software solutions that power Mastercard's commercial payments ecosystem. This role combines people leadership, technical leadership, and delivery ownership in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Role
As Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, delivery, and operation of business-critical applications and services. You will drive engineering excellence, build high-performing teams, and partner across Product, Architecture, Security, Reliability Engineering, and Operations to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, product enhancements, and platform modernization efforts.
Guide the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of highly available, distributed software solutions.
Champion engineering best practices across software development, quality assurance, automation, security, and operational excellence.
Partner with Product and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical solutions and delivery plans.
Support architectural decisions and technology adoption that improve scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and performance.

Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and/or SAFe.

Payments, fintech, or other regulated industry experience preferred.
