Job Description:
Analyst/ Associate: Equity Research, Gaming & Lodging
The Gaming & Lodging team covers over 30 publicly listed companies including Sports Betting Operators, Hotels, Casinos, and REITs and has been ranked Top 3 in the annual Institutional Investor (II) poll for the 15 years, including number 1 the last 4 years.
This position is to support all team needs including financial analysis, modeling and writing company and industry updates and reports, with a particular focus on high frequency data analysis and trends. The ideal candidate should have meaningful experience with financial/3-statement modeling, corporate finance, accounting and in particular MS Excel. Additional experience in data or computer science, statistics, math, Python and AI prompting would be helpful and interesting. The ideal candidate is competitive, intellectually curious, and posseses good communication skills. Candidates should generally have at least 9-12+ months of front-end financial experience in investment banking, equity/debt research, corporate finance, accounting or consulting.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial modeling & valuation work
- Update, analyze and compile complicated datasets in databases using Excel
- Derive key insights from data trends and analysis
- Monitor, compile, and summarize/model key industry news and developments incl. via social media
- Seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment our research capabilities/insights
- Write and update company and industry data reports and trends
- Closely follow and understand stock market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to the analyst when he/she is traveling
- Develop industry knowledge and business judgment over time
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- For finance candidates, minimum 9-12+ months experience in accounting, corporate finance, research, banking or consulting for finance oriented candidates
- Strong modeling and financial analysis skills (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel)
- Strong attention to detail, and understanding of MS Office for formatting charts, tables and exhibits
- Knowledge of math, statistics and/or data analytics/data science techniques; skills with both AI promoting, and python programming a plus
- General interest in the stock market and/or financial markets
- Must work well in a fast-paced, intense and collaborative team environment
