Microsoft is seeking an experienced Senior Product Marketing Manager to help shape and accelerate the growth of our sovereign cloud portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, customer needs, and go-to-market execution.
You will lead marketing for complex sovereign solutions across public cloud, private cloud, distributed infrastructure, AI, data, security, and partner-delivered environments. You will develop market narratives, drive high-profile launches, influence product strategy, and execute integrated marketing programs that build awareness, demand, and customer adoption.
This role requires a strategic and technically credible marketer who can translate complex capabilities into clear customer value, work effectively with engineering and executive leaders, and drive execution across a broad cross-functional ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Positioning
- Define positioning, messaging, and value propositions for the all-up sovereign cloud portfolio and priority customer scenarios.
- Develop differentiated narratives based on customer needs, sovereignty requirements, market trends, regulation, and competitive dynamics.
- Partner with engineering, product management, sales, and field teams to influence product strategy, packaging, and roadmap decisions.
- Create executive-ready storytelling that connects technical capabilities to customer and business outcomes.
Launch Leadership
- Lead major product launches and announcement moments from strategy through execution.
- Develop launch plans, messaging architectures, customer stories, field assets, executive communications, and success measures.
- Coordinate engineering, communications, analyst relations, partner marketing, field marketing, and sales teams to deliver integrated launch execution.
- Drive launch readiness and maintain message consistency across customer-facing channels.
GTM and Demand Generation
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, field, partner, paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Partner with Integrated Marketing, Global Marketing Engines & Experiences, regional/local GTM teams to drive awareness, engagement, demand, and adoption in priority markets.
- Use audience insights, customer signals, and performance data to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Define success measures and drive continuous improvement across the customer journey.
Thought Leadership and Market Influence
- Shape external thought leadership for sovereign cloud, sovereign AI, data sovereignty, security, resilience, and regulatory control.
- Support executive keynotes, industry events, analyst engagements, media opportunities, and customer forums.
- Represent Microsoft with customers, partners, analysts, and industry influencers.
- Develop strategic content, including whitepapers, blogs, executive briefs, presentations, and customer evidence.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Drive alignment across engineering, sales, partner, communications, analyst relations, public relations, field, and marketing teams.
- Lead through influence across diverse stakeholders without direct authority.
- Operate effectively in ambiguity and bring clarity to complex business and technical decisions.
- Mentor others and raise product marketing quality across the broader organization.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sovereign cloud, digital sovereignty, government cloud, regulated industries, or compliance-focused solutions.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, distributed infrastructure, data residency, security, governance, and business continuity scenarios.
- Experience with Azure, cloud infrastructure, AI platforms, data platforms, security, or enterprise technology solutions.
- Experience with analyst relations, public relations, executive communications, and thought leadership programs.
- Experience leading strategic technology partner and ecosystem marketing initiatives.
- Experience leading enterprise product launches and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Experience partnering with engineering and product teams to bring complex technical products and solutions to market.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
