DESCRIPTION:
The Applications Scientist, Bioprocess & Sample Preparation is the scientific and technical expert supporting CryoMed Controlled-Rate Freezers and SpeedVac Concentrators. This customer-facing role helps customers successfully apply our technologies in cell biology, cell & gene therapy, biopharma, process development, and academic research. The Applications Scientist works closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Service, and R&D to support customers from product evaluation through implementation, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing application support. The role also develops application data, training materials, and scientific content to support commercial growth and product development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer & Commercial Support
Serve as the applications expert for CryoMed and SpeedVac products.
Provide pre-sales application and workflow consultation.
Conduct customer demonstrations, training, and implementation support.
Help customers optimize workflows and resolve application challenges.
Support Sales and Product Management during strategic customer engagements.
Application Development
Develop and validate customer workflows and new applications.
Generate application data demonstrating product and workflow value.
Create application notes, technical briefs, posters, presentations, and best-practice guides.
Present at customer meetings, webinars, seminars, and conferences.
Identify customer needs and translate them into product and application improvements.
Product Support
Serve as the voice of the customer to Product Management and R&D.
Support new product introductions and launches.
Assist with complex application, workflow, and quality investigations.
Collaborate with R&D on new applications and product enhancements.
Training & Education
Develop standardized and customized training programs for customers.
Deliver on-site and virtual customer training.
Support fee-based training programs for strategic customers when appropriate.
Train Sales, Service, distributors, and other commercial teams on applications and workflows.
Develop training curricula, user guides, and educational materials.
Support workshops, webinars, user meetings, and scientific seminars.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: MS or PhD in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant laboratory experience in: Cell & Gene Therapy, Cell Therapy Manufacturing, Biopharmaceutical or Bioprocess Development, Analytical Development, QC Laboratories, Translational or Regenerative Medicine.
Experience in regulated laboratory environments is beneficial.
Proven ability to develop and optimize complex analytical methods and workflows
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with customers and internal teams
Experience delivering technical presentations and training to diverse audiences
Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional global teams
Proficiency with data analysis software and standard office applications
Available for 25% travel for customer support and events
Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial
Valid driver's license required
