Wealth Target Client Master (WCM) & KYC Modernization Engineering Lead is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position responsible for driving the strategic vision, architectural design, development, and execution of Wealth Target Client Master (WCM) & KYC modernization program

A primary focus of this role will be leading the first-generation, greenfield implementation of the WCM platform and driving the comprehensive modernization of the KYC platform to align with the enterprise Fenergo Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) implementation.

In this role, you will lead a global engineering team to build our new Wealth Customer Master (WCM) and modernize our KYC systems. You will use modern software and automation to make client onboarding faster, smoother, and fully compliant with financial regulations. To succeed, you will work closely with business, operations, and compliance teams to ensure our systems are highly efficient and meet all legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology & Engineering Leadership

  • WCM Greenfield Implementation: Lead the architectural design, engineering, and first-generation rollout of the Wealth Target Client Master (WCM). Establish WCM as the single source of truth (Golden Record) for global wealth clients, implementing high-performance Master Data Management (MDM) patterns, and deterministic/probabilistic entity resolution algorithms.
  • Fenergo-Aligned KYC Modernization: Drive the strategic modernization of the global KYC platform, ensuring seamless alignment, integration, and workflow orchestration with the enterprise Fenergo CLM platform. Lead the migration of legacy KYC workflows into Fenergo-native or Fenergo-integrated microservices.
  • Strategic Vision & Architecture: Define and execute the global technology roadmap for the WCM & KYC platform. Transition legacy, monolithic, and manual workflows into modern, high-throughput, event-driven, and automated microservices architectures.
  • Engineering Excellence: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing global engineering .Foster a culture of technical innovation, clean code practices, automated testing, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Operational Problem Solving: Apply modern engineering principles including microservices, Generative AI, and Agentic workflow orchestration to solve complex operational capacity.

2. Platform Engineering & Data Architecture

  • Data Integration & Streaming: Architect real-time data streaming pipelines to synchronize client profile updates across WCM, Fenergo, KYC, and downstream trading/banking platforms with sub-second latency.
  • Entity Resolution & Graph Analytics: Implement advanced entity resolution frameworks to deduplicate client records across disparate business lines
  • Fenergo Integration & API Design: Establish a robust, secure, and highly available API ecosystem to interface WCM and KYC services with Fenergo. Ensure real-time data synchronization between Fenergo, WCM, and global wealth front-office portals.

3. Productivity, Throughput & Capacity Engineering

  • Productivity Frameworks: Lead the design and implementation of global technology solutions that support the operational capacity and productivity framework, ensuring a sustainable, automated end-to-end KYC process.
  • Throughput Optimization: Partner with Global KYC Operations to set, measure, and optimize technology-driven productivity targets. Extend these models to Business and Compliance partners to ensure end-to-end throughput is accurately reflected and optimized.

4. Regulatory, Risk & Compliance Engineering

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the global KYC and WCM technology platforms continuously adapt to changing regulatory commitments, internal compliance mandates, and shifting client populations.
  • Impact Analysis: Lead technology impact analysis sessions related to new regulatory requirements, operational procedure changes, and business risk controls to ensure seamless platform adaptation.
  • Risk & Control: Appropriately assess risk when technology decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. Drive strict compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, ensuring robust data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and data security controls (encryption at rest/in transit).

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a proven track record of managing large-scale, global engineering organizations within Tier-1 financial institutions.
  • Greenfield Implementation Experience: Proven track record of leading the first-generation implementation/rollout of enterprise-scale Client Master, Customer Master, or Master Data Management (MDM) systems.
  • Fenergo Expertise: Direct experience leading KYC modernization programs aligned with Fenergo CLM implementations, including configuration, API integration, custom workflow development, and data migration.
  • Operations-Focused Engineering: Demonstrated success in engineering leadership specifically focused on solving complex operational problems, workflow automation, and high-volume transaction/data processing.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep domain knowledge of global Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Client (KYC) regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • People Management: Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary global teams (software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and architects) and managing substantial technology budgets.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and partnership skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with Managing Directors across Business, Operations, Compliance, and Risk.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
