Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Staff Product Validation Engineer to join our organization in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will lead comprehensive product validation initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability across our product portfolio. As a senior-level engineer, you will drive validation strategies, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products to market. Your expertise in testing methodologies, analytical mindset, and organized approach will be instrumental in identifying and resolving complex product issues before they reach customers.
Define Test strategy, test Methodologies/tools, develop Test Cases and Scripts to validate SSD FW for NAND based Systems and Solutions. Test areas will span across Functional, System level and Customer Qual centric tests. You would exhibit high degree of competency in understanding NVMe/PCIe specifications, NVMe Cloud SSD Specifications, along with understanding Customer specific requirements. You will be working in partnership with the SanDisk Hyperscale/Datacenter customers throughout the Product Life Cycle to improve the cycle time and customer quality of SanDisk’s SSD products. Be able to demonstrate success in communicating status, issues, concerns, strategies of programs and projects - including development of appropriate indicators. Must be able to deal with ambiguity and operate with little direction to meet defined goals. Must be able to work with and through others to achieve goals and task completion. Comprehend and articulate validation strategies, plans and status.
Experience
- 14+ Years in Embedded firmware or 10+ years in SSD Product Validation and debug from FW and a HW perspective would be a strong plus.
- Good hands-on experience in debugging NVMe Protocol issues using Lecroy/Viavi analyzers is must.
- Must have prepared good test strategy, test plans involving IO workloads, NVMe protocols, Performance and, Flash Translation Layer and Back End/ NAND Media management.
- Prior experience in validating SSD FW and system for Datacenter Compute and Storage SSD
- Define, develop and implement new test methodologies/tools to test software, firmware and device validation test plan and test content.
- Possess good technical understanding and hands-on AI workloads like Training, Checkpointing, KV-cache, Agentic workload is a plus
- Integrate tests into an automated test environment and collaborate with test execution teams to drive validation plans/strategy.
- Review, track and document test results and sightings
- Drive technical root-cause analysis for complex failures across firmware and system layers, utilizing telemetry and logs to resolve performance or data integrity bottlenecks.
- Own and scale the test infrastructure, improving test repeatability and coverage to accelerate the qualification cycle for next-generation NAND technologies.
- Drive issues to closure by interfacing/collaborating with other product development teams
- Demonstrated experience of leading big initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations and leveraging deep domain expertise to influence product roadmap.
- Passionate about exploring and deploying noble methods to improve coverage, debugging, and efficiency of our FW releases.
- Successful Candidates for this position will have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Good Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system debugging and Coding in Python.
- Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Expert planning and tracking skills, able to see big picture, well-organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management.
- Must have excellent knowledge of system storage and the relationship to the platform ingredients: CPU, Memory, PCIe, NVMe, drivers, OS, firmware, etc.
- Candidate should be highly skilled on using AI tools to generate Code, report generation, root cause and debugging activities.

Qualifications
- 14+ years of experience in product validation, quality assurance, or software testing
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks and scripting languages
- Strong proficiency in defect tracking tools and test management platforms
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues
- Demonstrated experience with performance, load, and functional testing methodologies
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development processes and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Experience mentoring and leading validation engineering teams
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and quality frameworks relevant to product development
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation for test metrics
- Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment practices
- Knowledge of API testing and microservices validation approaches
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
