Senior Analyst, Revenue and Commissions Operations

The Revenue and Commissions Team within Finance Operations at Capital One Travel is seeking a Senior Analyst with robust leadership, analytical, and communication abilities. This role requires a professional with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to manage and execute the receivables processes across various functions of the organization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in mitigating operational risks, developing and updating procedural frameworks, and overseeing the reporting of critical payment health metrics. Furthermore, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with diverse teams across Capital One Travel Operations to drive the evolution of receivables workflows toward a future-state model.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately collect and reconcile customer receivables.

  • Record and apply customer payments on a daily basis.

  • Follow up with customers on outstanding receivables. 

  • Own financial reconciliation data and reporting.

  • Reconcile daily deposits between bank account and accounting system.

  • Monitor inboxes and reply to internal and external stakeholders regarding invoices and payments made to Capital One Travel. 

  • Manage and resolve payments in the A/R Suspense account. 

  • Manage risks of incorrect receivables by ensuring enhanced controls meet updated payment standards.

  • Partners with Finance, Operations, Product, and Business to streamline processes and resolve payment issues.

  • Reduce operational exceptions and drive efficiencies through automation, elimination, and transfer of manual processes.

  • Understand and own our financial reconciliation data and reporting processes

  • Produce comprehensive and real-time risk reporting and monitoring, including payment health metrics

  • Manage risks of incorrect receivables by ensuring team processes are governed by enhanced controls that meet updated payment standards

  • Support risk management activities over enhanced control environment, including procedures maintenance, control testing, and process-level assessments

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Product, and Business teams to streamline processes and resolve issues impacting customer receipts

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary, such as developing and leading new Finance-

managed services or other initiatives 

  • Proactively and independently identify, investigate, and drive solutions for process, data quality inefficiencies  and control enhancements.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of Financial Services experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Risk Management, Finance or a combination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field

  • 1+ years of experience in an analytical position investigating complex data issues and building scalable solutions. 

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable.

  • Strong written and communication skills

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based accounting system

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with multinational entities, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany flows.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, solve ambiguous problems, and improve processes from the ground up. 

  • Experience with Coupa, Coupa Pay, or similar procurement systems

  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) environment experience

  • Previous travel or technology industry experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting


 

New York, NY: $105,300 - $120,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
