Job Description & Summary

We are looking for a new junior colleague to join our team located in Brno for the internship position in our Risk Management and Modelling team.

Our team conducts projects for leading Czech and international financial institutions (primarily banks), providing consultancy services in the area of qualitative and quantitative risk management. We support our clients in the area of loan underwriting and monitoring, model development and validation, regulatory compliance, ESG, data management and AI use-cases in risk management. Our typical projects are transformation of risk management function, remediation of regulatory findings, development and validation of credit risk models, due diligence as well as assistance with a bank’s in-depth regulatory compliance audit or regulatory inspection. We are seeking a motivated candidate with basic knowledge of banking and risk management, eager to expand their knowledge through hands-on project work and internal development initiatives.

Job description & summary

  • Assessment of financial (credit risk, market risk) and non-financial risks (operational risk) that affect the capital and liquidity situation of the bank.

  • Gap analysis for regulatory compliance across various risk management areas

  • Client’s data analysis and visualization.

  • Collaboration in client meetings and with bank personnel from various roles and levels.

  • Study of banking regulation and evaluation of possible impacts on specific financial institutions.

  • Internal work including client proposal preparation or internal tools development.

And much more! Each of our projects is unique. We deliver projects primarily abroad (e.g. Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium, Netherlands) but some also in the Czech Republic. Hence, we can guarantee that your work will not be repetitive.

What matters to us

  • You are pursuing a Master’s degree or in the third year of your Bachelor’s in economics, finance/banking, mathematics, or econometrics.

  • You are reliable, flexible, and capable of working part-time for at least 4 days a week.

  • You possess strong communication skills in English.

  •  Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, is essential.

  • The most important things for us are effort, critical thinking and willingness to constantly learn.

What will help you stand out

  • If you have experience in the banking sector or are familiar with financial products offered by banks, it will be an advantage. If not, don't worry—you can learn everything with us.

  • You are familiar with data work and are eager to develop in this area (basic knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is an advantage).

  • Knowledge of the German language is considered a great benefit.

Why you’ll enjoy working here

  • Professional growth that matches your ambitions and pace. Gain in months the kind of experience that can take years to build elsewhere.

  • Fair pay with no gaps. We are among the few companies in the Czech Republic certified for Equal Pay.

  • A flexible benefits programme with 15,000 points to spend on what matters most to you.

  • We support your learning and development journey: A wide range of learning opportunities, including business and digital skills training relevant to your area of expertise, as well as soft skills development.

  • A supportive team environment, backed by experienced colleagues and a buddy programme from day one.

  • Extensive well-being support and initiatives promoting a healthy lifestyle, from Dr. Digital and Human Dynamic programmes to workplace yoga and running events.

  • An ultrabook and an iPhone with unlimited data.

  • Social events and Away Days.

At PwC, we help clients solve today’s and tomorrow’s challenges across audit, consulting, tax, legal, technology, and data. We create an environment where people can learn, grow, and build a career in their own way. We believe the best results come from diverse experiences and perspectives.
