About the job
As a Medical Affairs Intern – Dermatology & Pediatric Care, you will work alongside experienced Medical Advisors on projects focused on improving the management of atopic dermatitis and the experience of pediatric patients across Belgium. You’ll contribute to research, engage with healthcare professionals and help turn insights into opportunities to improve patient care.

During your internship, you’ll gain exposure to several areas of Medical Affairs and contribute to four key projects:
Care Pathway Mapping – approximately 50%
- Explore how pediatric patients with atopic dermatitis currently move through the healthcare system across Belgium.
- Identify unmet needs, potential barriers and knowledge gaps that may affect the patient journey.
- Gather, analyse and bring together insights from a variety of sources. Help translate findings into meaningful insights and recommendations that could support improvements in patient care.
Injection Pain Mapping – approximately 25%
- Contribute to a nationwide project exploring how injection pain is currently managed for pediatric patients.
- Connect with healthcare professionals across Belgian hospitals through interviews and surveys.
- Capture and analyse real-world insights from different care settings.
- Help identify best practices, unmet needs and opportunities to improve the patient experience.
Scientific expert consultation coordination 20%
- Support the planning and execution of consultations with Key Opinion Leaders in the field
- Coordinate consultation logistics and materials.
- Assist with healthcare professional engagement.
- Capture expert meeting discussions and key insights.
Medical Affairs Support – approximately 5%
- Take part in Medical Affairs team meetings and gain exposure to how the function works in practice.
- Support scientific communication and project coordination activities.
- Contribute to additional Medical Affairs initiatives and develop experience across a broader range of projects.
About you
To excel in this role you will need to have:
- Be currently studying towards a Master’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health or a related discipline.
- Be available for an internship of at least six months starting in October 2026.
- Be fluent in Dutch and have business-level proficiency in English; knowledge of French would be an advantage.
- Have a strong interest in Medical Affairs, Dermatology, Pediatrics or patient care.
- Be curious, proactive, highly organised and eager to learn, with strong attention to detail.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable collaborating with different stakeholders.
