About the role
Original posting provided by Bristol Myers Squibb
At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”—a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.
The Opportunity
If you're a risk minded professional who leads with innovation and thrives on solving complex problems — someone energized by strengthening risk controls, reimagining processes, and transforming how things work rather than just maintaining them — this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact at a global biopharmaceutical leader whose mission is delivering life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.
As Senior Manager, Supplier Compliance & Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), you'll play a pivotal role within BMS's Global Procurement organization - sitting at the heart of our third-party risk program and GxP inspection readiness efforts. Reporting directly to the TPRM Program Director, you'll help safeguard BMS's supplier ecosystem, shape risk culture, and ensure our procurement practices are always inspection-ready.
This is a high-visibility role where your work directly supports regulatory compliance, enterprise risk strategy, and global supplier integrity - all central to BMS's ability to deliver life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.
What You'll Do
You won't just manage risk - you'll help build the framework that defines it. Here's a snapshot of what your days will look like:
- Elevate Risk Governance – Enhance TPRM controls, decision frameworks, and technology capabilities to strengthen oversight, improve control effectiveness, and support a mature, intelligence-driven risk program.
- Drive Operational Excellence – Reimagine and streamline TPRM processes through continuous improvement, automation, and simplification initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the enterprise.
- Influence Enterprise Risk Decisions – Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate emerging risks, strengthen controls, and support informed business decisions.
- Lead Through Regulatory Scrutiny – Serve as a key contributor during inspections, audits, and governance reviews, ensuring third-party risk management practices withstand external examination.
- Leverage Technology to Enhance Risk Intelligence – Optimize risk management processes, controls, monitoring activities, and data insights through continuous improvement of TPRM technologies and operating models.
- Shape Risk Governance – Influence the evolution of policies, standards, and risk frameworks that enable effective oversight, defensible decision-making, and sustained inspection preparedness.
- Champion Continuous Improvement – Bring fresh, strategic ideas to evolve TPRM practices, share best practices, build risk awareness, and contribute to thought leadership across internal and external forums.
What You'll Bring
Education
- B.S./B.A. required | M.S./M.B.A. preferred
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, compliance, R&D, Commercial, or Operations - or equivalent relevant roles
- 4+ years of proven success in a TPRM, procurement, or compliance organization
- Solid understanding of ICH/GCP regulatory guidelines as they apply to procurement and vendor management
- Hands-on experience with TPRM platforms such as ServiceNow, CertaAI, ProcessUnity, or similar tools
- Familiarity with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, and Compliance Management processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and gain stakeholder buy-in
- Strong analytical mindset - able to cut through complexity and prioritize what matters most
- A proactive, creative, self-driven approach with a passion for continuous improvement
