Are you passionate about shaping how data center infrastructure is designed, built, and brought to life? As a Senior Constructability Engineer at Amazon, you will embed directly into first-of-a-kind and new-product programs — including next-generation cooling, racking, and modular designs — catching constructability and commissioning issues during design maturation, well before they reach the field. You will validate new construction methods such as prefabrication and modularization, quantify their schedule, cost, quality, and carbon impact, and convert field-proven innovations into fleet-wide standards. If you thrive at the intersection of design engineering and hands-on construction delivery, this role offers the chance to influence how Amazon builds at global scale.

Key job responsibilities
- Embed into first-of-a-kind and new-product programs (new cooling, racking, modular and Design for Manufacture and Assembly solutions) during design maturation to identify and resolve constructability and commissioning risks before they reach sites
- Run first-of-a-kind validation, vendor qualification, and deployment-readiness assessments to confirm new designs meet construction and operational requirements
- Develop and validate new means and methods — prefabrication, modularization, new materials — and quantify their schedule, cost, quality, and carbon impact
- Convert field-proven innovations into fleet standards by supporting basis-of-design intake and specification updates across the global infrastructure portfolio
- Partner with product owners, construction management teams, and manufacturers on integration and buildability across products, driving consistency and technical alignment

A day in the life
You are reviewing new-product designs for buildability, visiting prefabrication facilities for factory acceptance tests, running first-article deployment assessments, and quantifying the benefit of a new method against the current standard. You work upstream of the field so that when a new product reaches a site, it is genuinely deployable — and you package what works into a standard the whole fleet inherits.

About the team
Our Constructability Engineering team works at the heart of Amazon's global data center delivery program. We partner across design engineering, construction management, product development, and manufacturing to ensure that every new infrastructure concept can be built safely, efficiently, and at scale. Our focus over the coming years is accelerating the adoption of modular construction, new cooling technologies, and sustainable materials — and this role is central to making that happen. If you want to shape the future of how critical infrastructure is delivered worldwide, we would love to hear from you.
