The AI Transformation team within Microsoft Frontier Company is reimagining how the company operates in the age of AI. As a Technical Program Manager, you will bring technical and program leadership to turn AI transformation opportunities into solutions that deliver measurable operational impact. You’ll work across small, multidisciplinary teams and business stakeholders to translate goals into executable plans, align dependencies and decisions, and drive initiatives from early experimentation through deployment, adoption, and scale.

Responsibilities
- Drive AI transformation initiatives from ambiguous opportunities through experimentation, implementation, adoption, and scale.
- Partner deeply with engineering teams, applying strong technical judgment to understand designs, tradeoffs, and emerging AI and agentic capabilities.
- Lead multiple complex initiatives in parallel, establishing priorities, managing dependencies and risks, and maintaining execution velocity.
- Translate business and operational needs into clear outcomes, success measures, plans, and ownership.
- Provide cross-functional leadership, creating clarity, driving decisions, and aligning teams in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Drive measurable operational impact through clear business metrics, evaluation, telemetry, and feedback loops that inform iteration and scaling decisions.
- Build trusted partnerships across Frontier and identify reusable patterns and approaches that enable successful transformations to scale.
- Ensure security, privacy, Responsible AI, and compliance requirements are incorporated throughout program execution.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
- 5+ years experience conducting research as part of a research program (in academic or industry settings).
5+ yearsexperience developing and deploying live production systems, as part of a product team. - 5+ years experience developing and deploying products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle from ideation to shipping.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
