As a Senior Accounting Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of Capital One's financial reporting. You'll be responsible for daily and monthly control execution, and provide critical support for monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial analytics, all contributing to a smooth and precise month-end close for our growth-oriented organization. This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of new technology implementation, issue resolution and process improvement

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of the Retail Bank’s reconciliations, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership

• Ensure accounting practices and documentation procedures are performed in accordance with accounting and governance policies and procedures

• Assist in the remediation of issues impacting overall reconciliation environment health 

• Respond to requests from other departments and perform research

• Participate in key corporate projects such as system upgrades, enhancements, or process improvements

• Assist with Audit Inquiries 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

• At least 1 year of accounting, finance, or audit experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 

• 2+ years of accounting, finance, or audit experience

• 1+ year(s) of experience with banking reconciliations

• 1+  year(s) of experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

 

Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

 

Wilmington, DE: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
