The Role

We are seeking a Workday Delivery Lead who combines strong program management capabilities with strategic thinking, executive stakeholder engagement, and a global perspective. This individual will not only ensure successful delivery across the portfolio but will also proactively identify opportunities to enhance value, drive innovation, and support Rio Tinto's broader people and technology agenda.

Key Responsibilities

As a Workday Delivery Lead, you should expect to lead a large, complex, AI-enabled Workday implementation effort and have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead teams of consultants and clients to reach their implementation and transformation goals on time and within budget.

  • Develop and implement business solutions that align with industry standards and organisational goals.

  • Work from start to finish on a technology transformation project with the ability to step in at any stage of the project lifecycle.

  • Identify scope and write functional requirements and specifications. Use expertise to develop and support cost effective blueprints, estimates, and conceptual designs.

  • Implement new requirements and solutions.

  • Align technology with business strategy and goals, work directly with the client gathering requirements to analyse, design and/or implement technology best practice business changes.

  • Be an expert internally and externally for your deep functional or industry expertise, domain knowledge, or offering expertise, enhancing Accenture's marketplace reputation.

  • Serve as a practice thought leader related to digital HR and Finance transformation and the digital employee experience

  • Collaborate with diverse groups to ensure solutions are comprehensive and effective.

  • Advise clients in their human capital management and/or financial management technology decisions and strategies

  • Solution and deliver integrated offerings that enable a client’s digital employee experience through Workday

  • Own the AI agenda for the engagement, setting the vision for how AI is applied both within the Workday solution and in the way the program is delivered.

  • Advise clients on adopting Workday’s AI and machine learning capabilities, including Workday Illuminate, and on the process, role and change implications of AI-enabled HR and Finance operations.

  • Embed Accenture’s AI and automation assets into delivery — accelerating design, configuration, data conversion, testing and documentation — and hold the team accountable for measurable productivity gains.

  • Establish responsible AI and data governance for the program, covering model transparency, human oversight, privacy and compliance with Australian regulatory obligations.

  • Build AI fluency across the team, coaching consultants on AI-enabled delivery practices and reskilling as tooling evolves.

  • Create, implement and manage a program office function in support of the execution of delivery or product work.

  • Develop and execute end-to-end project management activities.

  • Define project scope with key stakeholders and effectively manage milestones and dependencies.

  • Support the management of financial, contractual, and operational commitments.

  • Monitor delivery performance and quality using metrics and status reporting.

  • Mitigate risks as defined in project plan.

  • Oversee and maintain practices and procedures in line with best practice

  • Financial and operational management of the PMO & governance control

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master proficiency in Workday Financial Management.                  

  • Master proficiency in Account Delivery Management.                    

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant related skills.                      

  • Proven experience with the Delivery of at least 2 major Workday Implementations

  • Demonstrated experience leading AI-enabled transformation, or embedding AI and automation into large-scale delivery

  • Working knowledge of Workday’s AI capabilities and of responsible AI and data governance practices

  • Previous consulting experience or congruent professional experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company.

  • Ability and willingness to travel

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience with pre-sale and sales activities

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of studies.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' Workday experience, with a strong track record delivering complex Workday programs.

  • Proven experience in a Project Manager (PM) or Delivery Lead (DL) role, leading multiple workstreams and managing delivery across large-scale initiatives.

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to look beyond day-to-day project delivery and identify broader opportunities to drive value across the portfolio.

  • Experience overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously. In this role, there are currently six active projects, with additional opportunities to support and enable emerging capabilities such as Sana, Paradox, and other innovation initiatives.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing senior client executives and leadership teams.

  • Comfortable operating in a global environment, working with stakeholders across multiple countries, time zones, and cultures.

  • Global Workday delivery experience is highly desirable, as this portfolio extends beyond Australia and New Zealand and requires a broader international perspective.

  • Ability to build trusted relationships, drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, and balance strategic objectives with delivery execution.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Expert proficiency in Estimation and Planning.

  • Expert proficiency in Work Management.

  • Advanced proficiency in Business Analysis.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Process Improvement.

  • Advanced proficiency in Stakeholder Engagement.

  • Experience with agentic AI or AI-assisted delivery tooling.
