Job Description
Visa is continuously evolving its cross-border proposition to keep pace with changing client needs, emerging payment experiences, merchant acceptance models, and competitive dynamics across regions. Global FX & Cross-Border Solutions leads strategic initiatives focused on strengthening Visa’s cross-border capabilities, expanding client value, and identifying new growth opportunities across the broader payments ecosystem.
The Senior Product Manager will help manage projects related to Visa’s cross-border growth strategy. Specific projects will vary in sponsor, business or strategic focus, depth, and stakeholder served, ranging from broad coordination efforts across multiple regions and functional areas to focused special assignments for senior management that are of particular strategic importance to Visa.
The role sits at the intersection of strategy, solutioning, and product management. It will help define Visa’s cross-border growth agenda by sizing opportunities, assessing client and market needs, evaluating competitive dynamics, and shaping strategic recommendations. It will also translate selected priorities into product roadmaps, requirements, and scalable delivery plans, while working with technology and subject matter experts to solve complex technical and operational challenges and move high-priority opportunities from concept to execution and measurable market impact.
The position requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to solve complex problems, make clear recommendations, and influence decisions that support Visa’s corporate priorities. The Senior Product Manager will report to the Lead, Cross-Border Growth Solutions, Global FX & Cross-Border Solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Help define cross-border growth strategy, opportunity priorities, and client value propositions by connecting market needs, competitive dynamics, business objectives, and Visa’s broader product capabilities
- Structure strategic analyses, market sizing, financial assessments, and qualitative research to build the fact base for opportunity prioritization, business cases, investment decisions, and executive recommendations
- Build and maintain market, client, and competitive analysis across cross-border payments, FX, merchant acceptance, settlement, and emerging payment experiences to inform strategic choices, positioning, and product investment decisions
- Translate selected strategic priorities into product roadmaps, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements documents (BRDs), concept documents, and delivery plans that enable cross-functional teams to execute
- Partner with technology and subject matter experts to solve complex technical and operational challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and convert ambiguous requirements into practical, scalable implementation paths
- Shape and prioritize roadmaps and backlogs for selected cross-border growth workstreams, ensuring execution stays aligned to strategic value, client impact, business objectives, delivery capacity, and measurable outcomes
- Partner with product, technology, design, legal/regulatory, regional, and implementation teams to move solutions from strategy through requirements, delivery, launch readiness, market enablement, and ongoing improvement
- Drive cross-functional alignment across regions and functions, helping teams make trade-offs, resolve dependencies, and deliver scalable solutions that can be adopted across markets
- Identify implications of data and analysis, articulate recommendations, and build support for them among business leaders across the organization
- Track adoption, product performance, client feedback, and delivery outcomes to assess whether strategic initiatives are achieving intended market impact and to inform future roadmap and investment decisions
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or a PhD
- Experience working in the payments industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in cross-border payments, foreign exchange (FX), merchant acceptance, or related product strategy
- Experience and knowledge of the payments industry, with sound understanding of payment technology and product development
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar, with a track record of successful launches and experience developing BRDs and other product design documentation
- Strong systems thinking and lateral, creative problem-solving across the cross-border and FX ecosystem
- Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred
- Strong business sense, with the ability to understand multi-dimensional problems and develop innovative, practical solutions
- Self-starter attitude, able to work independently in ambiguous environments and build fact-based recommendations for senior management
- Superior analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills, handling multiple work streams and large data sets
- Openness to learning and adopting AI tools and large language models (LLMs) to accelerate and expand research and analysis beyond traditional methods
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to establish credibility with senior executives and present with clarity and influence
- Experience with agile and lean methodologies, and leading cross-functional teams
- Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback and coaching from peers and managers
