The Role

We are looking for a motivated Communications Associate to support the delivery of a digital-first, high-impact communications programme across EMEA.

Sitting at the intersection of media relations, social media, and corporate communications, this role will help strengthen Morningstar’s reputation by supporting external communications activity across owned and earned channels. Working as part of the communications team in a fast-moving, regulated environment, the role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, curiosity about financial markets, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day media relations activity across EMEA, including monitoring inbound enquiries, helping coordinate interviews, and preparing materials for media outreach.
  • Assist in identifying media angles tied to Morningstar research, data, and market insights across business, financial, and trade media.
  • Draft and adapt written, visual, and multimedia content across owned and earned channels, including press materials, LinkedIn posts, briefing documents, and internal updates.
  • Support a LinkedIn-first communications approach by helping create platform-native content that builds visibility for key spokespeople, research, and market commentary.
  • Help translate complex research and market insights into clear, credible, and engaging communications, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Assist with communications planning and execution around corporate moments, research launches, and external events.
  • Monitor media coverage, social performance, and broader market narratives, sharing insights that help optimise communications activity and identify emerging risks or opportunities.
  • Help draft reactive communications materials where needed, including Q&As, holding statements, briefing notes, and stakeholder messaging.
  • Work closely with global communications, legal, compliance, and marketing colleagues to support consistent messaging and alignment with governance processes.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ experience in corporate communications, PR, journalism, content, or external communications; experience in financial services, professional services, or another regulated environment is helpful but not essential.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical information into clear, accurate, and engaging content.
  • Experience creating content for digital channels, particularly LinkedIn or other corporate social platforms.
  • Some exposure to media relations, PR activity, or press office support, with an interest in building these skills further.
  • Good judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in financial markets, investor behaviour, business news, and the role of research and data in shaping external communications.
  • Comfort using AI tools to support content development and workflow efficiency, with an understanding of the need for accuracy, appropriate tone, and reputational awareness.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Please submit a cover letter and 1–2 writing samples alongside your resume. Applications without writing samples will not be considered.
