Reporting into the Channels leadership team, you will partner closely with the Cross Channel Strategy Lead and channel managers to drive operational excellence across campaign performance, budget management, process documentation, creative operations, and vendor management. You will own the operational rhythm of the business, including staff meeting governance, campaign status tracking, SOP development, and knowledge management. This role is critical to maintaining velocity and quality as the Channels team scales its impact across AWS Marketing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong organizational skills, and has a passion for streamlining processes and mechanisms that make teams more effective.
Key job responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Program Management
• Meeting Governance: Own and manage cross channels meeting agendas, sourcing and prioritizing the right topics (e.g., strategic initiatives, learnings from new areas, tiger team updates) and that meetings drive decisions and accountability.
• Operational Rhythm: Establish and maintain the operational cadence for the Channels team, including weekly syncs, monthly business reviews, quarterly planning cycles, and cross-functional alignment meetings.
• Project Coordination: Track and drive progress on cross-channel initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and clear ownership across workstreams.
Campaign Operations & Tracking
• Demand Plan Status Management: Maintain visibility into the status of all demand plans, AWS Summits, re:Invent, and other priority programs with a specific eye for common or consistent issues across multiple aspects of the team. Develop plans to mitigate common issues and provide regular status updates to leadership.
• Cross-Channel Coordination: Coordinate across channel teams (SEM, SEO, social, email, programmatic, web, and organic search) to ensure milestones are met and dependencies are managed.
• Performance Reporting Support: Partner with Demand Services and analytics teams to compile performance data, support reporting, and draw insights for leadership reviews.
Budget & Resource Management
• Budget Management: Support the Channels budget process, manage finance mechanisms including monthly finance reviews in coordination with the AWS finance team counterparts to track spend against plan, bring insights, and flag variances to leadership.
• Finance Tooling: Coordinate with AWS finance to streamline existing budget tooling processes and ways to automate submittals and approvals (e.g. AMPs tooling).
Documentation & Knowledge Management
• SOP Documentation: Develop, maintain, and evangelize Standard Operating Procedures for key Channels workflows. Ensure SOPs are accessible, current, and adopted by the team.
• Wiki Governance: Own the Channels wiki and internal knowledge base. Establish a governance model for content updates and actively deprecate outdated documentation to maintain a single source of truth.
• Onboarding Materials: Create and maintain onboarding guides for new team members and contractors, accelerating ramp time and ensuring consistency.
• Best Practices and Channel Guides: Develop, maintain, and implement integration of channels guidance and best practices into broader IDC team processes. For example, integrate channel content best practices into content creation frameworks within the content studio team.
Cross Channel Customer Journeys
• Channel orchestrator: Represent Channels requirements, risk/opportunity considerations, and ensure channel-specific impacts are surfaced early in journey activation decisions. Participate in CX journey planning and AEP orchestration discussions. Maintain a regular communication mechanism with the Digital Strategy team and serve as the primary coordination point between CX and all Channels sub-teams (Email, Paid Media, Organic, Web, Search).
Vendor & Contractor Management
• Vendor Transitions: Plan and execute vendor and contractor transitions (e.g., optimus, help desk, agency support), including developing transition plans, managing timelines, and ensuring continuity of service.
• Contractor Oversight: Coordinate with external contractors and agency partners, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and SLAs.
