Wholesale Credit Solutions (WCS) is an independent risk management function part of the Citi's Banking and International Risk (BIR) division. The group establishes and monitors Wholesale risk ratings, credit limits, reserve forecasting and stress testing. The Credit Measurement team within WCS oversees Credit underwriting and Due Diligence Frameworks and policies including the strategic development, ongoing governance and alignment of supporting frameworks and processes.
Responsibilities:
Leading the design and development of credit approval and due diligence frameworks that clearly articulates roles and responsibilities for Citi’s end-to-end management of credit underwriting. This will include cooperation with the Banking and International Risk (“BIR”) Policy Office and owners of respective policies and standards as well as subject matter experts from 1st and 2nd Line of Defense across all lines of business, owners of underwriting processes and Data Analytics Reporting and Technology (“DART”).
Identify opportunities for underwriting simplification and enhancements to further improve internal practices and reduce operational complexities.
Implementation of target state governance of approvals and due diligence policy, standards and operating procedures within BIR, leveraging industry standards and best practices and ensuring consistency across the firm.
Supervise and scrutinize risk management activities related to the credit portfolio, including risk assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting to ensure optimal performance
Validate new account strategies, account management strategy development, and non-scoring financial models, ensuring robust and effective checks are in place.
Conduct rigorous internal and oversight reviews, probing and investigating internal processes and controls, managing any internal audits or regulatory exams to uphold institutional integrity.
Assess and analyze risk during decision making processes, using sound judgement to safeguard the firm's reputation and financial stability.
Ensure firm policies are upheld, promote ethical conduct, and rigorously examine activities and processes to ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Stay informed about industry trends, leverage strong communication skills to clearly relay information to various stakeholders and make complex business decisions.
Monitor and adapt current practices according to the latest trends in credit risk analysis, leveraging expertise for improved forecasting and allowance calculations.
Serve as a key authority in overseeing the first line of defense processes for portfolio management, adapt to industry trends, and drive strategic improvements for efficient operations.
Conduct regular reviews of portfolio health, engage in ad-hoc work related to risk control, and identify potential risks for the purpose of continuous improvement and risk reduction.

Requirements:
· Subject matter knowledge of Wholesale Credit and the general principles of Credit Risk management. This includes an understanding of the Wholesale Credit portfolios and businesses, underwriting processes across businesses and how to assess, manage, and monitor risk.
· Vision of how to establish, implement and govern an end-to-end process. Experience in drafting policies, procedures, trainings and/or reporting.
· Clear understanding of Risk Management policies and regulatory directives, specifically from the perspective of the development of robust controls and escalation framework for Wholesale Credit processes.
· Ability to meet deadlines for targeted deliverables in a timely, proactive, and entrepreneurial manor.
Qualifications & skills:
· 10+ years’ experience in Wholesale Credit Risk Management, Project Management and/or other control functions.
· Experience in leading and coordinating firm-wide initiatives and issue management governance.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to discuss technical issues with partners and foundational concepts with Senior Management stakeholders.
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster a collaborative environment and positively promote and influence change.
Education:
· Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
· Master’s degree preferred
