Help solve real-world challenges that touch millions and get the opportunity to build the future of payments with Citi Tech.
What We Do / The Team:
Our Production Application Support team is at the heart of Citi's daily operations, ensuring the stability, quality, and performance of mission-critical applications used across the firm. We operate globally, working closely with business users, traders, internal technology groups, and external vendors to keep systems running seamlessly. The team plays a pivotal role in bridging technology and business — proactively identifying issues, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our applications deliver maximum value. Whether collaborating with regional colleagues across time zones or partnering with development teams on the next release, our work directly influences the success of Citi's global operations.
Role Overview / What Will You Do:
As an Application Support Senior Analyst, you will provide expert technical and business support for Citi's critical applications, driving stability and operational excellence every day. You will:
Monitor & Maintain – Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers; ensure applications and their operating environments meet service level expectations.
Resolve & Escalate – Quickly diagnose and resolve application issues; assess risk and impact of production incidents and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
Release & Deploy – Participate in application releases across the full lifecycle — from development and testing through to production deployment — and conduct post-implementation analysis.
Improve & Optimise – Identify ways to maximise application potential; lead Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives; formulate scope and objectives for complex enhancements.
Risk & Compliance – Perform same-day risk reconciliations; identify vulnerabilities and security issues; ensure storage, archiving, and contingency procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
Coach & Collaborate – Act as SME and advisor to senior stakeholders and junior analysts; liaise between users/traders, internal technology groups, and vendors.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
To thrive in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical expertise and communication skills:
Experience in an Application Support role, with a proven track record of managing production environments.
Experience installing, configuring, and supporting business applications and their operating environments.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages, with the willingness and ability to continue learning.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills — able to filter, prioritise, and validate complex information from multiple sources.
Experience with issue tracking, reporting, and problem management tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical issues into plain language for non-IT stakeholders.
Ability to plan, organise, and re-prioritise workload quickly in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent practical experience.
Any Beneficial / Nice to Have Skills and Experience:
Experience with application contingency planning and disaster recovery processes.
Familiarity with risk reconciliation processes and financial services environments.
Background in coaching or mentoring junior team members or new recruits.
Experience acting as a liaison between business users (e.g., traders) and technology/vendor teams.
Exposure to security and vulnerability assessment within application environments.
Knowledge of storage and archiving best practices for enterprise applications.
