Role purpose
Owns end-to-end delivery of the BCM programme, from mobilization through business impact analysis, strategy definition, plan development, exercising and embedding into business-as-usual. Accountable for scope, schedule, quality, commercials and client relationship, and is the single point of ownership the client holds responsible for the engagement.
Key responsibilities
Delivery ownership
Own the delivery plan, milestones, dependencies and critical path against the signed Statement of Work
Run governance: weekly status reporting, steering committee updates, RAID log, change control
Manage deliverable production, internal quality review and formal client acceptance
Track commercials — budget, burn rate, milestone invoicing and revenue recognition
Identify and manage scope creep; raise change requests before work is undertaken
BCM technical scope
Define BCM scope, policy and governance structure aligned to ISO 22301 and applicable regulatory frameworks
Direct the Business Impact Analysis: critical activities, dependencies, MTPD, RTO, RPO and MBCO
Oversee threat and risk assessment and the resulting continuity strategy options
Govern development of business continuity plans, crisis management structure, incident response protocols and communication trees
Ensure IT disaster recovery capability is mapped against business recovery objectives and gaps are surfaced
Design and run the exercise programme — walkthrough, tabletop, simulation and live failover — and drive remediation from findings
Build the awareness, training and continual improvement cycle so the capability survives handover
Stakeholder and team management
Serve as primary interface to the client sponsor, BCM function, risk, IT and business unit leads
Secure client-side inputs, approvals and participation, and escalate dependency slippage early
Lead and develop the delivery team; allocate work, review output, manage utilization
Run knowledge transfer so the client can operate the capability independently
8+ years of experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Risk, or a related discipline.
Proven experience leading end-to-end BCM programmes from mobilization through implementation and handover.
Experience conducting and governing:
Business Impact Analyses (BIA)
Risk Assessments
Continuity Strategy Development
Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development
Crisis Management and Incident Response programmes
Experience managing programme governance, RAID logs, executive reporting, and steering committees.
Experience managing client-facing consulting engagements and programme commercials.
Experience leading workshops and stakeholder engagements across business and technology functions.
Experience running continuity exercises including tabletop, simulation, and recovery testing.
