Senior Full stack - Angular Java Lead Developer- Vice President

Job Description:

The Digital S/W Eng Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of large-scale digital engineering programs, owning design decisions from the pre-planning phase through to implementation across cloud platforms including AWS and Akamai.
• Chair design reviews for both agile and structured delivery projects, establishing reusable design patterns that are adopted across engineering teams and lines of business.
• Conduct code reviews for next generation microservices architecture, ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, and engineering quality standards.
• Define and publish engineering metrics across design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD pipeline adoption, and pattern implementation to give stakeholders clear visibility of quality and progress.
• Mentor and coach software engineers, elevating technical capability across teams and embedding engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Translate technical and business risks into clear, actionable guidance for senior stakeholders, enabling informed decisions on delivery timelines, trade-offs, and constraints.
• Identify and resolve delivery blockers across agile and waterfall programs, aligning cross-functional teams to maintain momentum on complex, high-priority digital initiatives.
• Assess technology and business risk in engineering decisions, ensuring solutions adhere to relevant policies and maintain the integrity of Citi's platforms and clients.
• Turn tech stack and application design into code on multiple development platforms (e.g. Angular, Java spring boot services).
• Ability to use AI tools like Copilot for code generation, refactoring, and debugging.
• Develop and maintain BDD (Behavior Driven Development) automated and manual scripts in a code repository. Execute them and maintain test results in a test management tool for further reporting and establishing traceability. Create Jenkins jobs and plug in to CI-CD pipeline.
• Experience using AI tools accelerate unit tests, API scaffolding, Angular components, and Spring Boot boilerplate.
• Actively participate in the entire software development cycle involving development, integration and E2E testing in a CI/CD environment (RTC, Jenkins). Automate and enable shift left.
• Accountable for development, design, construction, testing and implementation and write secure, stable, testable and maintainable code.
• Continuously build, maintain documentation for your features and develop SME – Subject Matter Expertise in specific areas covering end to end flows, from digital to downstream to external partners.
• Analyze root causes for application issues and performance concerns. Collaborate within the scrum team, across other impacted downstream or upstream entities and external partners to solve the issues. Triage, track and report defects followed by prioritization, fix and closure.
• Adhere to SDLC control processes. Suggest and implement continuous improvements.
• Apart from functional validations to meet the acceptance criteria, validate Responsive Web Design and validate ADA Accessibility using screen readers such as NVDA, Voiceover and Talkback, code scan using Axe, perform CCA and be comfortable with other ADA tools and processes.
• Review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved ways for visibility ensuring your program stays on track or excels in meeting the organization objectives.
• Work in a fast-paced environment involving onshore offshore teams.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 13+ years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expert in one or more areas.
• Strong, hands-on experience with both Angular frameworks and Java for API design and development
• Exhibit expertise in all aspects of technology by understanding broader patterns and techniques as they apply to Citi’s internal and external cloud platforms (AWS, PCF, Akamai)
• Lead resources and serve as a functional SME across the company through advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, networking, use of knowledge and experience to lead, architect, and drive broader adoption forward.
• Acquire relevant technology and financial industry skills (AWS PWS) and understand all aspects of NGA technology – including innovative approaches and new opportunities.
• Demonstrate knowledge on automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in the CI/CD.

• Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
