Role Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst role will be responsible for Cost Accounting and Operations Finance projects within the global finance projects team. Initially, this role will collaborate in the Cost Accounting workstream to integrate a recent acquisition into Thermo Fisher’s E1 ERP environment. After project completion this role will lead and collaborate on LSG, BPG, SDG, and/or AIG, projects, but may also provide support to other Thermo Fisher Groups. This role will engage with finance leadership at group and division level to ensure a seamless execution of company, group, divisional and functional Operations Finance projects. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Finance Projects.
Responsibilities
Support the migration of entities into core company ERPs (e.g. E1 and SAP), with specific emphasis on migration to the manufacturing module
Perform data validation and controls testing to ensure automated processes maintain accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues during setup, testing, and go-live, and post go-live.
Identify and ensure that business requirements are met within a project

Provide updates to senior management with focus on decisions, issues, and risks
Lead project related change management including communication and training
Challenge the status quo, proactively identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI and automation, and/or collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g. IT, COEs) to standardize processes, drive process improvements, and drive system enhancements.
Assess and implement opportunities to use AI / machine learning / generative AI tools to improve reporting efficiency, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and insight generation.
Support ad-hoc internal, group, and corporate requests as needed.
Requirements
Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or Information Technology
5+ years relevant experience in finance
Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation
Track record of using tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power Automate, or similar to automate workflows and improve financial reporting and analysis.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, E1 (JD Edwards), Dynamics, etc.
Cost Accounting and/or Operations Finance experience with knowledge of key accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred
Strong team building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of customers in a global-matrixed environment
