Data Gateway encompasses five product areas. Real-Time APIs and Notifications (PAPI, DAAPI, PeopleBus, DomainBus), Integrations (BIF, DIME, Phoenix, Andes Datasets, Employee Data Orchestrator), Data Materialization (DMat), Authorization (Maple and MySupport), and Segmentation (Associate Data Store). This position is for the Authorization team that owns Maple and MySupport product.
Maple is Amazon's purpose-built authorization service for the PXT ecosystem, answering the question general-purpose access control systems can't: whether a specific person has permission to access another person's data. It operates on person-to-person population relationships, securing row-level access to 24.34M employee and alumni records across 160 applications and processing 8.8B authorization requests annually.

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on the Authorization team, you'll focus on designing and implementing scalable systems that serve our customers globally. Your day might include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand intricate business problems, writing and reviewing code that meets our highest standards, and contributing to the architecture of products that enable Amazon to operate seamlessly. You'll participate in code reviews, engage in technical discussions with colleagues across different teams, and take ownership of features from conception through deployment. Beyond core development work, you'll have opportunities to mentor peers, share knowledge through technical discussions, and help shape the future direction of our platform.
Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
