Join Internet Technologies & User Privacy to lead the engineering teams responsible for defining and delivering the essential communication and productivity experiences that are at the heart of iOS. Drive the technical vision and execution for applications used by hundreds of millions of users daily, setting the standard for quality, performance, and role in defining the user experience around Contacts, FaceTime, Mail, Messages, and Phone.

Description

This role requires collaboration across teams and close partnerships with Product Marketing, Human Interface, and Services to align on strategic directives.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for engineering teams building Phone, FaceTime, Mail, Contacts, and Messages, and drive architectural decisions that ensure seamless integration across Comm Apps at massive scale.

Partner with Human Interface, iOS Platform, and Services teams to deliver cohesive user experiences across Apple’s ecosystem and drive adoption of new iOS frameworks and capabilities.

Champion privacy-first engineering practices, including end-to-end encryption implementations and engineering excellence standards for real-time communication, data synchronization, and offline capabilities

Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning CarPlay, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac to ensure continuity features work flawlessly

Mentor senior engineers and engineering managers while building inclusive, high-performing teams, and collaborate with carrier partners and standards bodies on telephony and messaging innovations

Establish long-term technical direction by aligning engineering execution with product strategy and platform evolution

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $311,100 and $496,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
