The fintech business of Coupang is reimagining financial services for both our consumers and sellers, so they can do more with their money.



Coupang Pay focuses on delivering innovative payment and financial services solutions to everyone who uses the Coupang app — from customers buying products on Coupang.com, to marketplace vendors, and restaurants that offer their services via Coupang Eats. We develop solutions with our latest tech innovations to serve the growing needs of Coupang’s customers in Korea and Taiwan. This includes Coupay, an online wallet with a proprietary one-touch payment capability.



In particular, we are rapidly scaling the Wow credit card, a co-branded card that offers industry-leading rewards as part of our efforts to maximize customer values. For sellers, we are building out multiple liquidity options to help small and medium sized enterprises grow their business, using BaaS (Banking as a Service) capability.

Job Overview:

Risk Engineering team provides the next level platform and framework related to security, compliance, etc. in preparation for negative risks so that the fintech business teams can achieve success.

What you'll do

Design and implement backend systems for Coupang Pay
Devolop systems such as Fraud Detection System (FDS) to ensure the secure protection of customer data. Develop technologies and features for the sustainable delivery of financial services.
Develop systems that ensure continuous financial services while safely protecting customer data.
Communicate with the stakeholders of other systems to design and implement systems that comply with laws and regulations.
Identify and disseminate best practices to the team.

Requirements

A team player
Sophisticated knowledge in Java, Spring and MSA environments
Experience in dealing with and resolving the issues that occur when an organization grows in size and the systems get complicated
6+ years of experience in designing and implementing backend architecture
Strong coding skill - OOP and scripting language
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or other related tech fields

Preferred qualifications

Experience in software development in a fintech organization
Strong background in cloud services (docker, K8S and AWS/ Google/ Azure)
Experience in company-wide application of API Gateway and Service Mesh
Strong knowledge in Java, distributed systems, micro services, messaging services
The ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-changing environment
Experience in security or compliance-related system development
Good understanding of the agile software development methods
