About the role

We are seeking a Principal leader to own logistics network optimization strategy and execution across the global portfolio, connecting transportation, warehousing and manufacturing for optimal outcomes. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the intersection of technology, supply chain design, and operational execution. You will lead end-to-end program management of our data center supply chain and distribution network structure — defining where we place facilities, how we route hardware flow from OEMs and Contract Manufacturers through to data center rack deployment. This role will partner with technology teams, 3PL operators, and suppliers to continuously improve speed and resilience at massive scale.
The right candidate combines deep supply chain and network design expertise with strong technical fluency, executive presence, and a builder mentality. You will influence VP+ leaders, drive multi-year roadmaps, and deliver programs that scale the network to meet AWS's exponential capacity demands.
Key job responsibilities
-Network Optimization Strategy: Define and execute the long-term logistics network optimization strategy including facility placement, capacity planning, inventory positioning, and transportation routing
• Program Management: Lead complex, cross-functional programs spanning multiple teams, workstreams, and delivery milestones; manage dependencies, risks, and escalation paths at scale
• Technology Partnership: Partner closely with engineering and technology teams to define requirements, influence roadmaps, and drive adoption of optimization tools, automation, and data-driven decision systems
• Operations Integration: Collaborate with operations leaders to ensure network design decisions translate into executable, sustainable operational models
• Stakeholder Influence: Communicate strategy, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leadership (VP+); write crisp documents (6-pagers, OP narratives, WBRs) that drive alignment and decisions
• Org Leadership: Mentor and develop team members; set the bar for operational excellence and delivery within the organization
