Who we are looking for
State Street Investment Management's Data, Analytics & AI Services (DAAIS) organization is seeking a Vice President, Investment Data Product Development Lead to lead the development of enterprise investment data capabilities supporting analytics, risk, reporting, operations, and investment decision-making.
This role combines deep expertise in institutional investment management data with strong data management and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will provide domain leadership across key investment data areas while managing a team of data engineers responsible for delivering scalable, trusted, and reusable data solutions. Working closely with engineering leadership, architecture teams, and business stakeholders, the candidate will ensure that complex investment data requirements are translated into robust technical solutions that support both current and future business needs.
This role is ideal for a leader who has extensive experience with investment management data and enjoys partnering with engineering teams to design, build, and operationalize enterprise data capabilities. A seasoned investment management data expert who understands Security, Holdings, Benchmark, Performance, Risk, and Portfolio data in depth, can lead a team of engineers, and can translate institutional knowledge into scalable engineering solutions.

What you will be responsible for
As Investment Data Product Development Lead, Vice President you will -
Investment Data Domain Leadership
Serve as a subject matter expert across core investment management data domains.
Provide domain leadership for Security Master, Holdings, Benchmarks, Portfolio, Performance, Risk, Exposure, and Reference Data.
Define and standardize business rules, data definitions, relationships, and data structures across investment data platforms.
Ensure data solutions accurately reflect business processes, regulatory requirements, and investment workflows.
Solution Design & Development
Partner with engineering and architecture teams to design scalable and reusable investment data solutions.
Translate complex business and operational requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Guide data modeling, integration, and implementation decisions for strategic investment data initiatives.
Support the resolution of complex data challenges involving cross-domain relationships, historical data, and data quality issues.
Engineering Leadership
Lead and develop a team of data engineers based in Bangalore, India, responsible for delivering enterprise investment data capabilities.
Provide leadership, coaching, prioritization, and business context to the team while partnering closely with engineering leadership for technical implementation decisions.
Ensure solutions align with business objectives, investment data requirements, and delivery commitments.
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to support design decisions, execution planning, and successful delivery outcomes.
Foster strong team engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement across delivery initiatives.
Own production operations for the critical data products, including on-call/incident response post-incident reviews, and continuous reliability improvements.
Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a key interface between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Collaborate with investment teams, operations, analytics, and technology partners to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
Facilitate alignment on requirements, priorities, and implementation approaches.
Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap discussions for investment data initiatives.
Data Quality & Governance
Champion high standards for data quality, consistency, traceability, and operational reliability.
Establish domain-specific validation rules and quality controls.
Support governance initiatives through strong domain expertise and business context.
Drive continuous improvement of investment data assets and processes.
