This role leads medical strategy and launch readiness for Baxdrostat across international markets, connecting global strategy with regional needs from Dubai. Accountabilities:
Asset Launch Leadership: Lead and coordinate prelaunch and launch planning and execution for Baxdrostat across international markets, ensuring medical readiness and high-quality delivery from day one.
Regional Medical Strategy: Design the regional medical strategy for the portfolio and co-create the regional brand strategy with the Commercial lead, aligning medical and commercial objectives to drive clear outcomes
Cross-Functional Partnership: Provide expert medical input to Regional Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access to shape evidence plans, value narratives, and policy readiness that accelerate adoption and access
Capability Building: Enable and influence country medical teams through training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing so they deliver credible, compliant medical communications and activities aligned to brand goals
Evidence and Education: Develop, manage, and oversee above-country evidence generation, external medical education, and insight-gathering programs to address identified data and knowledge gaps
External Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key external experts to inform strategy, elevate scientific exchange, and strengthen advocacy for the asset
Global Connectivity: Drive close collaboration with global and regional teams, ensuring regional needs are heard and integrated; stay aligned with evolving strategies and priorities
Scientific Leadership: Provide timely medical expertise and remain current on scientific, clinical, and competitor developments to inform decisions and anticipate market dynamics
Compliance Stewardship: Ensure all activities uphold AstraZeneca Policies and Standards, including Code of Conduct, Ethical Interaction, Privacy, and Procurement requirements
Essential Skills / Experience:
Advanced degree in a scientific discipline; preferably a doctoral degree such as M.D., Pharm.D., or Ph.D.
Proven 8+ years of experience in medical affairs including country and leadership experience of strategic medical planning, launch planning and execution (Therapy Area Head in a large marketing country, Country Medical Director, Global / Above-market Medical Director)
Proven track record of effectively working and influencing without authority within a matrix organization
Solid experience in team management and project management. Excellent communication skills
Therapy area knowledge/experience in biologics
Extensive experience in collaboration with external parties and managing cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
Solid business understanding and acumen
Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance framework in which we operate
