State Street Investment Management is looking for a Senior Project Manager for our China office, as part of Information Technology organization.

This senior-level role will be responsible for program and project management of investment management applications and platforms, partnering closely with global business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure successful delivery across regions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of leading complex, global initiatives, along with a working knowledge of asset management business processes and applications.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Coordinate and lead global project delivery by partnering with cross‑regional technology teams, business stakeholders, and vendors on the planning, execution, and implementation of IT initiatives. Own day‑to‑day management of assigned projects to ensure delivery against agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

  • Own project documentation and governance, including project plans, status reports, RAID logs, and key decision records, etc. Ensure full alignment with project governance, risk management, and audit requirements, and provide proactive support during internal or external reviews.

  • Identify, track, and manage project and operational risks, maintaining up‑to‑date mitigation and contingency plans. Proactively resolve issues where possible, and escalate critical risks and dependencies in a timely and structured manner to ensure informed decision‑making by leadership.

  • Act as a key stakeholder interface, ensuring alignment across technology, business, and management teams, and delivering clear, accurate, and audience‑appropriate project communications.

  • Enable team effectiveness and continuous improvement through coaching, facilitation, best‑practice sharing, and driving improvements in delivery discipline and team operations.

  • Facilitate and support junior Project Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and practical support to build team capability and delivery consistency.

  • High proficiency in project and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, MS Project, Jira, and similar platforms. Experience with analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

  • Experience in AI projects or AI project management is a plus, e.g., delivering GenAI/ML initiatives, data/AI platforms, or AI-driven process automation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment in fast‑paced and high‑pressure situations.

Education & Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management or other technology-enabled project roles. Experience working on large-scale initiatives is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Demonstrated technical understanding of software engineering concepts (e.g., system architecture, APIs/integrations, data flows, cloud basics) to effectively partner with engineering teams and drive end-to-end delivery.

  • PMP certification required; additional project management–related certifications are highly desirable.
