About the team

As an Intern, you will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work directly supports customer impact and business growth. You’ll gain exposure to how data, strategy, and client engagement come together to drive outcomes across Sales, Account Management, and Business Development.


What you’ll do

As a Sales Analyst Intern, you may:

Support pipeline development and growth opportunities through market research and customer analysis

Contribute to customer strategy and engagement, including preparing presentations, proposals, and meeting materials

Support sales and business initiatives through project management and coordination, helping track priorities, monitor progress against key objectives, prepare status updates, and facilitate collaboration across teams to drive execution and customer outcomes

Leverage data and insights to identify trends, inform recommendations, and support business planning

Collaborate across Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Marketing, Product, and Services teams to drive aligned outcomes

Participate in customer meetings and sales calls as an observer, gaining exposure to customer engagement strategies, relationship management, and Mastercard's solutions to prepare for future customer-facing responsibilities


Projects other Sales Analyst Interns have worked on:

Marie leveraged earnings reports and market research to assess a large retail customer's strategic priority, providing insights, enabling Account Management teams to tailor product solutions

Johnny assessed the US FinTech and Digital Merchant ecosystem to identify high-potential customer and inform sales strategy

Sam helped the Business Development team research international markets and helped build pipelines to support new business opportunities and renewals


How you’ll grow

You’ll gain hands-on experience at the intersection of technology, the payment industry, analytics, customer engagement, and commercial strategy.

What we’re looking for

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management or a related field graduating December 2027 and Spring 2028

Ability to translate data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations that drive customer and business outcomes

Demonstrated interest in sales, account management and client engagement

Prior experience through a business-related course, academic project, internship, case competition, student organization, or club leadership role is preferred

Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding customer needs, building professional networks, and learning about Mastercard's products, services, and the payments industry

Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with internal and external stakeholders

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams, regions and manage multiple stakeholders

Strong organizational and project management skills in a fast-paced environment

Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to understand client needs, business models and Mastercard’s products and solutions

Experience with or interest in using AI tools to enhance analysis, insights and productivity

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
