As a Senior Director Project Manager at Capital One, you will have an opportunity to lead our Enterprise Supplier Management Project Management Office as we continue to embark on a multi-year journey fueled by integrations, transformation, and our values-based mission to Change banking for Good. This role will operate within the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) line of business, focusing on supporting the supply chain and procurement organization. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line, while designing and building out our long term Project management strategy and support model.
As the Senior Director, Project Management for Enterprise Supplier Management, you will be instrumental in building and overseeing the structure and governance around all aspects of project management for ESM. This includes defining and implementing robust methodologies, processes, and tools to standardize project delivery, enhance visibility, and ensure consistent execution across the supply chain and procurement organization. You will leverage your operational strategy skills to transform and optimize the project management ecosystem for ESM, integrating process management principles and demonstrating strong change management familiarity. Key Responsibilities:
Establishing and maintaining the comprehensive project management structure and governance model for ESM, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and compliance within a highly regulated environment.
Identifying and sequencing (in partnership with key stakeholders) the multi-year strategic objectives and roadmap for the Enterprise Supplier Management project portfolio, translating executive intent into executable programs and initiatives for supply chain and procurement.
People leadership, supporting a team of approximately ~10-20 Associates, to drive complex projects and programs, providing strategic direction and fostering a well-developed ecosystem that allows for effective delivery against integration demands, Business-as-Usual (BAU) project support, and other related ad-hoc needs.
Owning executive-level communications, roadmaps, and reporting to provide transparency on project progress, key risks, resource requirements, and to articulate the volume and types of work to senior leadership within ESM.
Provide strategic oversight and hands-on assistance in the initial scoping, feasibility assessment, and foundational definition activities for sensitive or high-priority programs and initiatives, ensuring executive alignment and robust planning from inception
Facilitating ongoing tradeoff and prioritization discussions with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), providing insights into resource supply against activity demand to enable informed strategic decisions.
Directing the design and implementation of workflow solutions to drive consistency and efficiency across the Enterprise Supplier Management project delivery environment.
Driving continuous improvement in project and process management practices by challenging existing processes and leveraging data, technology, and industry best practices, applying structured approaches where warranted from well established project management methodologies (ie Agile).
Partnering cross-functionally with project customers, dedicated partners, legal/compliance, technology leads, and business operations to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership and ensure successful, compliant project delivery.
Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk effectively.
Maintaining a strong and developing understanding of AI principles, applications in project management, and broader industry trends, for continuous adaptation to emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
At least 9 years of project, program, or process management experience.
At least 5 years of People Management experience.
At least 3 years of Financial Services experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
10+ years of project, program, or process management experience.
5+ years of experience leading complex strategic initiatives or transformations focused on establishing governance or operationalizing project frameworks.
3+ years of experience in Enterprise Supplier Management, supply chain, or procurement.
Experience with change management methodologies or leading organizational transformations.
PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
6+ years of People Management experience.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $238,700 - $272,400 for Sr. Director, Project Mgmt
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
