Summary
The Apple Thermal team is seeking a world-class Thermal Engineer to play a key role in the Definition and Design of Apple products. The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure that, from initial concept to design fruition, all thermal objectives are met or surpassed in order to optimize the user experience of Apple customers.
Description
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fundamental physics associated with heat and fluid flow and the ability to apply this understanding to complex design problems. A high-level of modeling expertise is required, as is the ability to effectively convey key conclusions through illustrative post processing. The ability to clearly communicate technically complex material within cross-functional design teams is a must, as is the ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Mechanics
5+ years deep technical and functional expertise in: conduction, convection (passive and active), and radiation
Numerical modeling techniques and concepts (convergence, discretization, and meshing)
Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Mechanics

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
