This is a senior individual contributor role where your research shapes risk frameworks, informs senior leadership, and contributes to the governance structures that underpin Citi's wholesale lending activities. If you bring deep expertise in wholesale credit risk and a track record of translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insight, this role offers the scope and visibility to make a genuine difference.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth credit risk research across the wholesale banking portfolio, producing assessments that enable senior leadership to make well-informed risk decisions.
- Develop and enhance risk measurement methodologies to ensure Citi's approach to wholesale credit risk remains rigorous, current, and aligned with evolving market conditions.
- Analyze credit portfolios to identify emerging risk concentrations, trends, and vulnerabilities, translating findings into clear recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Monitor credit risk trends across wholesale counterparties and sectors, ensuring the firm maintains an accurate and up-to-date view of its credit exposures.
- Produce high-quality risk assessment reports and research outputs that communicate complex findings in a clear, structured format for senior stakeholders.
- Engage directly with senior business and risk leaders to present research conclusions, discuss implications, and inform strategic risk decisions.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of credit risk governance frameworks, ensuring research outputs are embedded into risk oversight processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Deep expertise in wholesale credit risk research, analysis, or a closely related discipline gained within a financial services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance credit risk measurement methodologies, with a solid grounding in quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex credit data, identify material risk themes, and draw well-reasoned conclusions.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to present nuanced credit risk findings in writing and in person to senior and executive-level audiences.
- Familiarity with wholesale credit risk governance frameworks and the regulatory environment governing credit risk management in banking.
- Ability to manage multiple research workstreams simultaneously, delivering high-quality outputs within defined timelines without compromising rigour
