Title and Summary

Vice President, Product Management, Stablecoins and Open Standard

Overview
Mastercard's Blockchain and Digital Assets group drives Mastercard’s business and product strategy in the digital currency payment space. The team is at the heart of making Mastercard the trusted access layer that lets regulated institutions and their customers enable real-time payments and smart money movement through stablecoins, tokenized deposits and other forms of tokenized value.

We are looking for a Vice President, Product Management to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative blockchain and digital asset solutions, with a primary focus on onboarding, enabling and operationalizing various stablecoins, including Open Standard, onto Mastercard’s suite of products through direct relationships and integrations with stablecoin issuers. The role has global responsibilities and supports the execution of Mastercard's broader crypto and blockchain product roadmap.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader and people manager who combines deep payments expertise with strong product development, partnership management, commercialization, and business leadership experience. The candidate should possess a proven ability to bring innovative products from concept to market, build strategic ecosystem relationships, negotiate complex commercial arrangements, and drive adoption at scale, while maintaining a genuine passion for the digital asset space.

Role
• Lead Mastercard's strategic relationship with Open Standard and its member ecosystem, serving as a senior commercial, product, and governance representative to drive alignment on product strategy, ecosystem growth, operating models, and long-term network objectives.
• Represent Mastercard in Open Standard governance and strategic decision-making, helping shape product roadmap, commercialization models, operating frameworks, and market expansion initiatives while ensuring alignment with Mastercard's strategic, regulatory, and network objectives.
• Lead the development and commercialization of Mastercard's wholesale on- and off-ramp capabilities, enabling regulated financial institutions and Open Standard participants to efficiently mint, redeem, custody, and move tokenized money between fiat and blockchain-based networks at scale.
• Drive strategic partnerships with stablecoin issuers, financial institutions, fintechs, infrastructure providers, and other ecosystem participants to expand Mastercard's stablecoin capabilities, accelerate market adoption, and create mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.
• Lead negotiations with Stablecoin Issuers and issuers of other tokenized forms of money globally to ensure alignment, commercial viability and enablement of existing and new Mastercard products and services such as remittances, payouts, and B2B payments.
• Drive the successful adoption, growth, and commercialization of Open Standard and other compliant stablecoins across Mastercard products and services by identifying new use cases, distribution opportunities, customer segments, and ecosystem partnerships.
• Lead product and business engagements with third-party and distributed blockchains to facilitate payment product enablement and mutually beneficial business outcomes.
• Develop innovative solution concepts that have strategic fit and value for Mastercard's customers and partners, including ideation, definition, design, and development of blockchain and digital asset solutions.

All About You
• Partnership management: Proven experience building and managing strategic partnerships, including commercial negotiations, relationship management, ecosystem development, and execution with financial institutions, fintechs, technology providers, or digital asset participants
• Blockchain and digital assets knowledge: Strong knowledge of and interest in the blockchain, crypto, and digital asset space. Experience building and contributing to well-known blockchain or crypto projects is desirable
• Payments expertise: Experience in the payments industry with in-depth understanding of payment solutions across a variety of market segments, including familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Treasury and transaction banking experience a plus.
• Product development: Experience in bringing new products to market, including concept definition and validation, business requirements definition, and comfort working in cross-functional teams, in line with established product development processes
• Commercialization: Demonstrated success bringing new products and capabilities to market, including developing go-to-market strategies, pricing and business models, customer acquisition plans, partner enablement programs, and adoption growth initiatives.
• Commercial acumen: Good commercial insight with experience building value propositions for all participants in a payments ecosystem, including Mastercard, our customers, and partners
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and describe complex concepts and technologies to audiences of varied knowledge, and to communicate vision and roadmap effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial mindset: A strong entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to a changing market landscape, challenge the status quo, and work independently
• Analytical rigor: Strong analytical skills and sound judgment with the ability to digest complex problems and take thoughtful risks
• People leadership: Strong track record of leading and developing talent
