In this role, you will operate as a player-coach — owning key client relationships and revenue opportunities directly while building and developing a team of sales managers aligned to ambitious targets. Sitting within Citi's Trade and Working Capital business, you will play a critical role in shaping the sales strategy for the industrial sector and delivering measurable commercial outcomes across a complex, matrixed organization.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead the North America Industrial Sector sales function as a player-coach, maintaining direct ownership of high-value client relationships and revenue opportunities while guiding and developing a team of sales managers.
  • Define and deliver the annual sales plan and pipeline goals in partnership with Product Heads, ensuring targets are clearly cascaded and consistently achieved.
  • Build and advance a robust pipeline of client prospects across the industrial sector, identifying opportunities sufficient to meet required business growth objectives.
  • Establish and deepen relationships with key clients and business partners to uncover new mandates, cross-sell opportunities, and long-term revenue potential.
  • Monitor market dynamics, client needs, and economic trends to anticipate shifts and position Citi's trade and working capital solutions competitively.
  • Coordinate across internal teams to ensure the timely, seamless execution of client mandates, maintaining high standards at every client touchpoint including proposals and presentations.
  • Develop sales talent through active coaching, targeted training, and strategic hiring to build a high-performance team culture focused on accountability and delivery.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance functions to uphold governance standards and ensure all business activities meet applicable regulatory and policy requirements.

 Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 15 or more years of experience in a sales, client coverage, or commercial banking environment, including 8 to 10 or more years in a people leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate sales teams to achieve aggressive revenue targets in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Track record of operating effectively across cross-cultural and matrixed organizational settings, building alignment across multiple stakeholders and business lines.
  • Experience formulating and executing business strategy across corporate client segments, with a direct impact on commercial outcomes.
  • Strong command of trade finance, working capital, or related financial products, with the ability to engage credibly with senior client stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess commercial risk and reward in business decision-making, with sound judgment in applying governance and ethical standards.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification required.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the industrial sector, including key market dynamics, client needs, and competitive landscape across North America.
  • Experience leveraging partnerships, advisory boards, and industry conferences as part of an integrated go-to-market strategy.

  • A senior leadership platform with direct influence on Citi's Trade and Working Capital strategy and revenue performance across North America.
  • A hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, supporting professional effectiveness and work-life balance.
