As Sr. Manager, Theatrical PR, you will build, lead, and inspire a team of publicists while working collaboratively across marketing, distribution, awards, and international teams to deliver integrated campaigns that serve both creative and business objectives. You will serve as a strategic counselor to senior executives, filmmakers, and talent, providing guidance on reputation management, media strategy, and communications opportunities. This role requires the ability to nimbly and effectively navigate senior stakeholders in a matrixed, fast-paced organization, and to manage competing priorities with poise and precision.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering high-impact, innovative earned media campaigns for major theatrical releases. Must possess deep expertise in the evolving media landscape, strong relationships with top-tier entertainment and consumer press, and demonstrated success managing communications for high-profile talent and filmmakers. Must have the ability to manage crisis communications swiftly and effectively in service of mitigating reputational and financial risk. Should understand global box-office metrics, the festival and convention landscape, and the cultural dynamics that fuel audience engagement.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute integrated theatrical PR campaigns that generate high-impact earned media and drive cultural conversation for Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical slate
• Lead PR strategy for theatrical releases from greenlight through production, release, and awards, ensuring campaigns are cohesive, innovative, and aligned with business goals
• Build, mentor, and inspire a team of publicists, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration
• Provide strategic communications counsel to senior executives, filmmakers, and talent on media strategy, reputation opportunities, and potential challenges
• Manage crisis communications and issues management, developing messaging and response strategies that protect the studio's reputation and mitigate financial risk
• Build and maintain deep relationships with key entertainment, consumer, and cultural media across digital, print, and broadcast platforms
• Partner closely with marketing, distribution, awards, international, and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, integrated campaigns
• Oversee campaign budgets, agency partnerships, and vendor relationships, ensuring efficient and impactful allocation of resources
• Develop campaign plans, messaging frameworks, press materials, and executive communications
• Lead and develop strategic PR activations at major festivals, conventions, premieres, and industry events
• Stay ahead of the evolving media and cultural landscape, identifying emerging platforms, voices, and opportunities to amplify campaigns

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
