About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a culturally fluent, strategically minded, and execution-driven National Theatrical PR Specialist to drive day-to-day PR campaign strategy and activities for the studio's theatrical film slate. This role will work in close partnership with senior national publicity leadership to develop and execute earned media campaigns that break through culture — identifying, creating, and amplifying moments that generate conversation, critical engagement, and audience excitement across the full lifecycle of a theatrical release.
The ideal candidate brings a sophisticated understanding of the modern media landscape — from legacy outlets and broadcast to digital editorial, podcasts, and emerging platforms — and can identify innovative pathways to earned coverage that go beyond traditional publicity playbooks. This is a role for someone who thinks creatively about how stories get told, who is telling them, and where audiences are actually paying attention — and who can execute against that thinking with rigor, precision, speed and creativity.
This role requires equal parts strategic instinct and operational excellence: the ability to conceive a breakthrough campaign beat and then manage every detail required to bring it to life — from pitch through placement, from press day logistics through premiere execution. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, manages multiple high-profile campaigns simultaneously, and brings genuine passion for film and pop culture to everything they do.

• Lead planning and execution of press days, junkets, screenings, and publicity events — managing logistics, press confirmations, talent flow, materials, and day-of execution
• Develop innovative press event formats and activations that generate earned media beyond standard interview rotations
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners (marketing, social, creative, distribution) to ensure that PR is integrated into broader campaign strategy
• Maintain deep, current knowledge of the evolving national media landscape — understanding which platforms, and formats reach which audiences, and how influence patterns are shifting
