Job Description

Visa's Client Platforms and Enterprise Tools team owns the platforms that govern how clients and partners securely connect to Visa's APIs. As Sr. Product Manager, you will drive product strategy and execution for the Visa Developer Platform's API Gateways, the encryption and key management capabilities that protect data in transit, and Visa's India data localization operations. Direct product strategy from product conception and definition through implementation. Identifies new business and market opportunities and creates appropriate business plans

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Key Responsibilities

 - Own product strategy and the long-term roadmap for the Inbound API Gateway and its associated developer portal onboarding flows

- Define the roadmap for authentication and encryption mechanisms supported at the gateway (mTLS, PQC, OAuth, JWT/JWK) and prioritize new auth capabilities against client and regulatory demand

- Own security configuration capabilities such as header whitelisting, and prioritize enhancements based on emerging threat models and client requirements

- Run front-door intake meetings and prioritize incoming feature, security, and integration requests from internal product teams and partners

- Manage the regional deployment roadmap, ensuring gateway capabilities and security configurations are rolled out consistently across regions

- Partner with security, cryptography, and platform engineering teams to validate that new authentication and encryption capabilities meet Visa's security and compliance bar

- Define and track performance key results (latency, availability, onboarding time, auth failure rates) to ensure ongoing product readiness

- Own documentation and enablement materials so internal teams and partners can self-serve gateway onboarding and configuration

- Monitor support/incident trends related to authentication and security configuration, feeding recurring issues back into the roadmap

- Present roadmap, KPIs, and key security/compliance decisions to leadership and governance forums on a recurring cadence

- Support daily operational needs requiring data access and retrieval by India-localized personnel, ensuring timely turnaround for internal and client requests

- Help ensure India-localized platforms and tools run reliably as a cohesive product suite, coordinating fixes and improvements across the underlying systems

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

      - Working knowledge of API authentication and security standards (OAuth, mTLS, JWT/JWK) and emerging areas such as post-quantum cryptography

      - Familiarity with encryption concepts (message-level and field-level encryption) and key management lifecycle practices

      - Experience running intake/prioritization processes and setting product roadmaps for multiple concurrent workstreams

      - Experience partnering closely with security and cryptography engineering teams on regulated or compliance-sensitive capabilities

      - Understanding of data localization or data residency regulatory requirements is a plus
