As a Principal Associate, Project Manager on the Capital One Card Partnerships Technology team you will support and lead the technical oversight, integration and technical operations of our corporate customers. You will work with cross-functional, multi-platform application systems and teams to ensure the solutions we provide to our corporate partners are well managed with rigorous risk management practices.  

This is a Principle Associate, Project Manager Integration position that is accountable for being the champion for their corporate partner and representing their partners interests with various teams (internal and 3rd party technical teams) to ensure we are delivering quality customer service. This includes identifying growth opportunities, ensuring timely, accurate and transparent communications, providing advice and counsel to our stakeholders, ensuring well managed execution & rigorous risk management practices and driving continuous process improvements through influence and negotiations with performing teams.   

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction with the technical products and services we provide by negotiating mutually beneficial agreements across Customers, stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Quickly understanding business needs and translate these needs into technical solutions

  • Conducting analysis, gaining support and driving solutions through influence and negotiation

  • Communicate across and up through your Partner’s and Capital One leadership team to ensure timely and accurate information is provided.

  • Continuously learn & analyze complex, interconnected business processes / systems to ensure risks are well managed and controls are effective.

  • Assist with Intent grooming to ensure acceptance criteria and conditions of satisfaction clearly define ‘done’ for agile delivery teams.

  • Focus on quality, resilience and performance of technologies and services utilized for your partner.

  • Work closely with software engineering teams to find creative solutions to problems and to remove impediments to delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 3 years of Project Management or Process Management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience with systems integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • 4+ years of Project Management or Process Management experience

  • 2+ years of Data Analytics experience

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL or business intelligence tools

  • 2+ years of experience with AWS

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
