Job Description

The Risk Coordinator – Internal Controls will support the execution and continuous improvement of Visa Brazil’s Internal Controls Framework. This role is responsible for performing control testing, maintaining documentation, monitoring remediation activities, and supporting compliance with BCB Resolution No. 150/2021, BCB Resolution No. 522/2025, and Visa's internal risk management standards.

This position will report to the Senior Risk Manager – Internal Controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute internal controls activities, including process mapping, risk assessment, control evaluation, testing, remediation follow-up, and continuous monitoring.

  • Perform walkthroughs and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls.

  • Develop, maintain, and periodically update Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs), ensuring alignment between process risks, controls, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain process documentation, control inventories, and governance records.

  • Document workpapers, evidence, findings, and recommendations.

  • Monitor remediation plans and follow up with business owners to ensure the timely implementation of corrective actions.

  • Perform continuous risk monitoring activities, including the analysis of KRIs, emerging risks, control deficiencies, and trends impacting the control environment.

  • Assist in monitoring regulatory changes that impact the Internal Controls Framework.

  • Prepare dashboards, metrics, KPIs, KRIs, and management reports related to internal controls and risk monitoring activities.

  • Support the preparation of periodic internal control reports for management and regulatory purposes.

  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives for control monitoring processes.

  • Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and business teams to obtain information required for risk assessments, testing, and monitoring activities.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance within financial institutions, payment companies, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Deep understanding of internal control frameworks and regulatory requirements applicable to the payments and card industry, including BCB Resolutions No. 150/2021 and No. 522/2025.
  • Experience in process mapping, risk assessment, Risk and Control Matrix (RCM) development, control testing, continuous risk monitoring, process improvement, and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English.
