Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, business-oriented, and versatile attorney to join our Legal team in Brazil.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, innovation, marketing, and payments, partnering closely with cross-functional teams across the organization. The successful candidate will act as a trusted legal advisor to multiple business units, supporting a broad range of legal matters, strategic initiatives, products, and commercial relationships.

The ideal candidate is a strong generalist with a hands-on mindset, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, balancing legal risk with business objectives, delivering practical and solution-oriented advice, and supporting a broad range of legal matters, from routine operational issues to complex strategic initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including:
  • Marketing, sponsorship, and promotional agreements;
  • Vendor and services agreements;
  • Strategic partnership agreements;
  • Product and solutions terms and conditions and agreements;
  • Client-facing agreements and related documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to Marketing, Product, Sales, Sourcing, Facilities, Corporate and other business functions.
  • Review and advise on marketing campaigns, advertising materials, promotions, contests, and communications.
  • Support the development, launch, and maintenance of payment-related products and services, including fraud prevention and risk solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda on a variety of regulatory, commercial, and corporate matters.
  • Support litigation matters in coordination with external counsel.
  • Identify legal risks and develop practical mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the payments and technology industries.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Law degree.
  • Admission to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
  • 8-10 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably gained in an in-house legal department and/or a top-tier law firm.
  • Significant experience in commercial and corporate law.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

Preferred:

  • Experience in the payments, fintech, financial services, and technology.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to payment ecossystem.
